These vehicles are sold "as-is/as-traded" and have not been serviced or reconditioned. However, each vehicle is road tested before being listed. The description you are reading is a summary of how a vehicle performed on our road test. I encourage each potential bidder to come see and drive a vehicle before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment only at my York, PA warehouse. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a ONE OWNER 1999 Volkswagen Passat sedan. This vehicle was sold new by York Volkswagen in 1998 and just traded back in on a new VW. As you can see, this is a great looking vehicle. The dark blue paint has a deep shine from any angle and looks great. While you should expect to find scratches and scuffs associated with normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this age and miles, there are no major flaws that really stick out or are an eye sore. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The factory VW alloy wheels look great. The tires have average tread all around. This is a good looking Volkswagen that appears to have been well taken care of. I would rate the interior of this Passat as ABOVE AVERAGE for the year and miles. The door panels are clean and show minor pulling of the cloth inserts. The carpets show well for their age, too. The seats are clean and comfortable, showing no abnormal signs of wear. The headliner is clean and in tact. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo is the original factory VW stereo and sounds good still. The trunk is spactiou and clean. This Passat comes with three keys as well as a complete set of manuals in their original Volkswagen portfolio. Mechanically, this Passat appears to have been well taken care of. The 20V turbocharged engine starts right up with no issues and runs smoothly. During my road test, I was very impressed by this Volkswagen. The ride is very tight. The steering is tight and responsive and the brakes feel great. The clutch does not slip or chatter. Gear changes are nice and smooth. This car will need two things that I know of...the first is an ABS control module (per my VW go-to guy) which can be had right here on ebay (auction # 320772736467) for anywhere between $125-175. The other thing needed is exhaust repair. It sounds like the exhaust is broken after the downpipe. It sounds cool when the turbo spools but probably won't pass inspection, haha. Any exhaust shop should be able to repair it easily. She drives super smoothly and is in much better shape than I anticipated.
