I am the second owner of this 1963 Studebaker Champ 1/2 ton. This truck had been setting for many years in a pole barn before I found it last year. The Champ has it's original 170 6 cylinder. This is the deluxe model and a nicely optioned one. It has a 3-speed w/overdrive, sliding rear window, hill holder and a twin-traction (posi-trac) dana 44 R/A. The Champ's frame is solid, the suspension and springs seem surprisingly good. The drivers side window is cracked and has a hole in it. The body is straight and the bed is solid. The floorboards are weak and thin from rust. Their are some rust bubbles on the rockers and the rear corners of the cab. I replaced the rear wheel cylinders and the master cylinder. I replaced the carb with a rebuilt one and I was able to get the truck to run using a gas can (I didn't want to try the old gas in the tank). This Champ would make a great restoration project and it deserves to be saved (I'm also selling my 1964 Studebaker Cruiser).
