Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria LX. I am a huge fan of the rear wheel drive Ford sedans (crown vic, grand marquis and town car). They are big, comfortable and made to drive. The Crown Victoria has been the go-to car for police and municipal use for decades, outlasting its GM and Mopar rivals. As you can see, this example has definitely been driven and has seen better days cosmetically. While there is no major damage, the paint has faded across the top of the hood, roof and trunk as is common as these cars age. There is some rust at the one rear fender. It's not the best looking one out there, but it hasn't aged too badly considering the miles. It has alloy wheels with decent tires. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. If you want a comfortable cruiser for not a lot of money and aren't worried about impressing anyone, this is your car. I would rate the interior of this Crown Vic as AVERAGE for the year and miles. The seats and carptes have fared well considering the miles but are not perfect, as one would expect. There are no rips, holes or major blemishes...but a good cleaning wouldn't hurt. The headliner is pretty tight, only showing minor signs of age at the front. The power windows, locks, mirrors and seats all work. The climate control system is working as it should. The air conditioner will need charged or serviced if you want the a/c to blow cold again. The original Ford stereo is still in tact and working. This one still has the original factory remote entry that is working properly. The trunk is huge, too. The drivers seat feels a little loose when you first sit into it but works fine and doesn't move around or anything funny. I've driven this car for two days. It's nicer than I expected... Mechanically, this Ford appears to be in running order. The famous 4.6L V8 starts right up and runs smoothly. I did not see any smoke or leaks from the engine. The suspension and steering are pretty tight and the brakes feel good, too. The engine is smooth and makes good power. Highway cruising is a breeze. She tracks strait down the road with no odd vibrations or pulling. The transmission shifts smoothly. The engine keeps a cool temperature and good oil pressure. I was not expecting this car to drive as nice as it does. Please don't expect anything even close to a new car...but a buyer with realistic expectations of a high mile domestic car should be very pleased with this find.
