1970 Porsche 911S: This has been an ongoing project for years, but I find myself with no time to dedicate to the work, so it’s up for sale. Basically, this is a bare 1970 911S chassis that needs work, along with its matching numbers engine case that has already been machined. Chassis Details: VIN # 9110300247 Original colour is Bahia Red It has been mostly stripped to assess condition. Basically, it needs to be further stripped and then have some panels repaired or replaced. The rear quarters were removed as they were bad turbo flares mounted onto rough quarters that were lap welded onto the chassis. The passenger side outer rocker has also been removed. Looking at the chassis, it needs: - Front latch panel area needs a bit of work - Front pan should be replaced - Drivers side rocker panels replaced - Passenger side rocker panels replaced - Rear longitudinals patched or worked on - Rear quarter panels trimmed and replaced - Some patches for floor - Bottom of fender joining panels should be replaced. It still needs the undercoating removed and a good media blasting to finish cleaning it, and like all projects, I’m sure there is some more rust hiding. Included are the front hood, read decklid (steel) and the front fenders. The front fenders look to be newer Porsche items as there is no rust and only the one coat of red paint. I’m also including OEM Porsche inner and outer rockers and front fender joining plates. Engine Case Details: Engine case is the correct matching number case to the chassis. The case was bored out to accept 90mm pistons and cylinder by the previous owner. Also has one small weld repair done by a PO. I sent it to Steve at Rennsport Systems in Portland, OR to have it checked out and have the following work done to it: - Return main bores to standard size (shave both sides and then line bore to std) - Case savers for head studs - Oil bypass mod - Install piston squirters Sale Includes: - Bare Chassis - Roller suspension from a 911T - Front fenders - Front trunk lid - Doors - Rear quarter panels (cut from a 70 911T) - Rear decklid (steel) - NOS Porsche inner and outer rockers + front fender joining panels - Matching number engine case - Bill of sale + title from person I bought it from - Blank front aluminum VIN Tag - COA from Porsche Summary: I’m sure that there is more needed, but this gives you an idea of what will be required – it’s not a project for the faint of heart. It would be a great basis for a 911S vintage racer or for someone with a parts car looking for a huge project!
