Vehicle Detail

I have over extended myself on projects. This car could be restored or finished the way you like (hot rod, old school, whatever). This is a running Fury convertible, unknown miles, with a new black top (power top works). The polyspherical 318 that was the original engine has been replaced by a good running LA 318 or 360 (not by me so I do not know the mileage on the LA engine -- the LA in the car is a two barrel, not a 4 barrel.) (See way below on parts interchange between the poly and LA.) Poly motors come up on Ebay periodically. They can be built for over 400 horsepower. The pushbutton transmission with the buttons on the dash appears to be properly mated to the later LA motor. This car came with air conditioning. The A/C compressor, hoses and the evaporator are gone. The A/C heater vacuum control 4 (four) button is in the dash. The original interior looks like it was light blue. I had plans of putting a complete 1964 Chrysler New Yorker 413 RB big block (~350 horsepower HP), Bore & stroke: 4.18 x 3.75 inches, Comp. ratio: 10.1:1, Torque: 470 lb. ft. at 2800 RPM, Carburetor: Carter (Model AFB-3644S) in this car. I pulled the 413 when the Chrysler had 64,000 miles on it – a tree crushed the roof. I sold off almost all of the parts from the Chrysler except for the radiator and transmission cross member. There are a number of things that this car needs (and I’m sure you will figure out more nits and bits missing when you bring it home). As I have another 1963 (Sport) Fury with the 318 poly I am quite familiar with the car -- I participate as a member in the Poly group list on Yahoo. In the order of what I think is the most costly to least costly: (your mileage will vary) 1. Paint!2. Chrome (actually stainless steel) – some may be missing. The clips are a real bear to find.3. Interior – the front seat – you might say that ¾ of it is there. The front seat bottom is nicely re-upholstered in white/cream but the driver’s seat “flipper” back is gone. The passenger flip back is rough but looks is the original passenger seat back. I’ve considered using the old front seats from my 1996 Sebring convertible and having them re-upholstered in cloth instead of leather. It would take care of the seat belt issue, too. Or, I’m looking at a front seat out of a 1967 Galaxy two door that may work should I keep the car longer. There is a decent fitting back seat out of which “I have absolutely no idea” in the car.4. Dash pad over the instrument cluster and over the rest of the dash (My 1963 Sport Fury convertible has had the motor and transmission rebuilt and a new interior and I STILL need a dashboard pad for that car – The Sport Fury has been in my family since 1968.)5. Brakes – the brakes work but I would go to a dual circuit setup at least and preferably changeover to front disks if I were to drive the car. I had the harrowing experience of my Sport Fury’s pedal going to the floor as a went to park, running over a couple of my neighbor’s small pines, crossing his front yard, and narrowly missing his brick mailbox to slip into rush hour traffic with horns blaring loudly at me. Lucky for me the only damage was bark scraped off the pines on our side. The neighbor never saw the missing bark as the trees sprung right back up, but he did ask about the tire tracks on his lawn that seemed to have magically appeared. Now, how do you think THAT happened? Hmmmm. :)6. The carpet is some kind or universal fit. A custom molded carpet would be a nice touch.7. Door and window handles are driver quality.8. Power steering is not hooked up. The steering box feels loose. Could be time to consider a cop box.9. The wheels are after market.10. Ignition switch11. Radio The 413 and matching pushbutton transmission are NOT included in this auction but available for a reasonable price if you think that is the way you want to go. The front K member is the same for all v-8’s that year. Changing to a later 1965-1966 K member will set the engine further back in the car. The buyer will have to make arrangements for pick up and/or shipping of the car. I cannot deliver it. It is too heavy for me to carry. I am making the car available locally. My cell is 678-360-7929. PLEASE, no calls, cards or letters from some barrister/lawyer, etc. telling me that I have inherited millions of dollars. I am a good dancer, a great kisser, and very charming. More money would only make the ladies lining up have to wait longer. I’m already getting complaints and it’s not fair to them! Also, no trades plz. I am trying to REDUCE the number of projects I’ll never get to. FYI Interchange from 1962to1965mopar (or nocar) site Interchange between the 1962 to 1966 polyspherical 318 engine and the LA series of Mopar motors (318, 273, 340, 360), including: · Thermostat · Thermostat housing · Internally balanced 273-318-340 harmonic balancers · Valve springs, retainers and keepers · Main bearings (NOT 360 though) · Rod bearings · Crankshafts (reground 360's included) · Flywheel · Starter, both standard and high torque · 318 LA ring set · timing chain and sprocket · fuel pump · oil pump · oil pan (not 360) · distributor pump drive gear · distributor, standard points or electronic Have a blessed day!
