While I strive for complete accuracy in my descriptions, you are bidding on a used vehicle with miles in excess of 100k...please have realistic expectations. I recommend that every potential bidder come see and drive a vehicle in person before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment only at my York, PA storage facility. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1999 Ford Contour SE with the Sport Package. The Contour represents a great used car value. This one is even better because it is equipped with the 24V Duratec V6 and a MANUAL transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Contour as AVERAGE. Overall, this is a good looking car that shows well. As is the case with most Contours, there is a small amount of rust under the doors and on the rocker panel. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. The alloy wheels look great. The tires are average. This is a good looking car overall. I would rate the interior of this Contour as ABOVE AVERAGE. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and show well for the age of the car. The headliner is clean and tight. All of the seats show well and are comfortable. This Contour is equipped with power windows, locks and mirrors. The stereo system is the original Ford stereo which sounds great. The climate control center is in good working order. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. This car comes with its original manuals as well as the original window sticker. The trunk is clean and spacious. Mechanically, this Contour appears to be in good running condition. The 2.5L 24V Duratec V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or leaks coming from this vehicle. The suspension feels pretty tight for an older vehicle. The steering is tight and responsive. The brakes feel okay. During my time driving this vehicle, it had excellent road manners. The engine keeps a cool temperature and there were no warning lights on. The clutch feels good and does not slip. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and has not shown any synchronizer wear. This car is a blast to drive. The Duratec V6 is a slightly tamed version of the engine used in the Contour SVT. It makes great power and loves to rev. I've owned several SVT Contours and none were drastically faster than this Contour. Accelleration is a snap and highway cruising is nice and easy. The exhaust rattles a little sometimes. Other than that...I don't really have anything bad to say about this little Ford. It's far from perfect but in pretty good shape for the age.
