Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1969 Buick GS 400 Convertible. This car has it's original VIN numbers matching 400 ci engine and VIN numbers matching TH 400 automatic transmission with 121,500 original miles. Engine and trans serial numbers are both 49H227460. The car is Silver Mist with a black vinyl interior and black vinyl top. The rebuilt original Rochester Quadra-Jet carb is part #29242, date code 0159 (Jan 15th 1969). The original distributor is part #1111335, date code 9A22 (Jan 22nd 1969). The trim tag on the car's body shows the build date as 01D (Jan, 4th week) Flint, MI. The engine in this car runs beautifully, sounds great, and doesn't smoke. The transmission shifts just as it should. I am the third owner of the car and have put 2000 miles on it in the two years I've owned it. In that time I have replaced the water pump, fuel pump, master cylinder, 4 wheel cylinders, and the front coil springs. It needs a heater core (currently bypassed). The car has never been hit, and the doors close perfectly. The upholstery is in nice shape, but there is a tear on the drivers side armrest pad. The car has a good working top that was replaced probably over 15 years ago. The car was repainted years ago in it's original color, but will need to be painted again, the worst areas being the top of the trunk (surface rust) and the hood. The front bumper will also need to be rechromed. The frame is rock solid. The floor pans are solid except for the drivers side front foot well (a couple of small holes). The trunk has the original spare, spare cover, bumper jack, lug wrench and trunk mat. There is a little rust through on the drivers side of the trunk pan (shown in close up photo). I disconnect the ground on the battery when I'm not driving the car, there is a draw in the system somewhere. Good tires all around. The car comes with the original AM radio. I have the original owners manual and DMV inspection reports from the 80's and 90's which indicate the mileage and emissions. The originality of this car makes it an excellent candidate for a full restoration. This is a turn key car. Get in and go! Winning bidder is responsible for transport. Full payment is due withing 5 days of end of auction. If you would like to see the car in person, please contact me and I'll be happy to show you the car.
