Please feel free to ask any questions you might have prior to bidding. This is a 1996 Vanworks Custom Dodge Ram van with a Braun Vangater II wheelchair lift. The van seems to be in good condition for its age. It starts right up and runs well, but we have been told by the previous owner, that their mechanic told them, that it has a "rod knock." You can hear this when you start it up but it seems to mostly go away after a few seconds of running. It has brand new tires with less than 1000 miles on them since new. The air conditioner blows cold. The body is in excelent conditons. There are no major dents or rust holes. There is a little bit of rusting above the rear doors along the drip edge (see photo). There are a few minor scratches and dings but nothing that would not be expected from a van this age. It doesn't currently have a stereo in it, but it does have the space in the dash. The priviouse owner took the stereo out prior to trading it in. Here is a list of some recent repairs and service. (service documents available) Ball joints and trans cooler 8/10-$837, Passed emission and safety inspection 10/10 , Wheel alignment 6/11-$65, Thermostat, radiator cap, AC recharge, and coolent 5/11-$447, PCV valve, trans cooler line, oil pressure switch, oil change 1/11-$386, Water Pump, serpintine belt, and coolent 5/11-$459 The wheelchair lift is a Braun Vangater II. This is a power wheelchair lift that will lift a wheelchair and occupent from ground level to van level. It also apears to have the tie downs in the floor to secure the wheelchair. There does not seem to be any problems with the lift. It folds and unfolds and raises and lowers properly. These lifts are about $6000 new, and the estimated current value of this lift is $2500. See http://www.braunability.com/vangater.cfm for more information on this lift. The van is in generally good condition for the age but it may possibly need some engine work. As noted above, it has been diagnosed with a rod knock. We can make no guarantees to the engine condition, only that it does run and drive. Given that it does have the rod knock, I don't think I would recomend driving it long distances before having the engine checked out. Please understand that this is a 15 year old van that may be in need of some work. We are starting this auction with a very low starting bid and no reserve. There is no warranty stated or implied. The wheelchair lift is the most valuable part of this vehicle, but with a little work this could be a very nice wheelchair van. Shipping will be up to the buyer. We have used www.dasautoshippers.com in the past. We have a DAS terminal near us, and we would be willing to deliver the van to the DAS terminal at no additional charge, but the buyer would be responsible for arranging shipping and payment. We can also work with you for other shipping options.
