Vehicle Detail

2000 Mustang Cobra - that's right! But wait - You say Ford did not make a Cobra in 2000, but this is a Cobra. This car started life as a 2000 Mustang with a 6 cylinder engine and was converted to a full-on Cobra by the prior owner in 2008. Cobra Bodywork, Cobra Engine, Cobra Suspension, Brakes, Dash, Interior - the whole 9 yards and best of all it retains its 6 cylinder VIN so you only pay 6 cylinder insurance which is great for younger drivers. The car has a total of about 41k miles on it and the Cobra conversion started at 33k miles. The Cobra engine, drive train and new dash were installed and have 7,600 miles on them (new odometer in dash had 0 miles in 2008) Here's all the skinny on the car. Ford 32V Cobra Crate engine purchased new from Ford Dealership. Tremec 6 Speed transmission Ford POSI 4:56 rear Frame Connectors The car runs great, looks great and is great - why pay $15k or more for a Cobra when you can get this for less. The prior owner had intentions of putting on a supercharger so he pulled the engine with 4k miles on it and had the UCF Machine shop in Carlisle PA rebuild the engine and lower the compression to 7.5:1 to insure reliability under boost. http://ucfmachineshop.com/ - (they have a few pics of this engine on the Projects tab of their website). The prior owner never got around to installing a supercharger so he decided to get a 4:56 rear installed to get back the acceleration. Then he realized how fast the motor spins with a 4:56 rear and purchased a Tremec 6 speed with an overdrive 6th gear to make highway driving possible. This car only spins the engine at about 2K rpm at 60 mph so it's great. When I bought the car one year ago it had tiny mufflers and no cats and would not pass MD inspection so I installed a set of Mini Cats and larger mufflers (man the thing was really loud) so it would pass inspection and emissions. After it passed I went back to the smaller mufflers and have a brand new set of larger mufflers that can replace the smaller mufflers if you like. With the Cats and smaller mufflers the car sounds really great. The car was also lowered when I purchased it and it was a pain getting in and out of the garage so I bought a set of stock 2003 Cobra Springs and had the car raised back up. It handles and rides a lot better now. The other springs go with the car in case you want to lower it again. It was realigned when I had the new springs installed so it drives straight and true. It never overheats and purrs like a cat at idle. It also has an aluminum flywheel and Spec Stage3+ clutch (SF873F) which bites really hard. She'll light up the tires like there's no tomorrow. The tires easily have 90% on them and the brakes have 90% also. I believe in total disclosure so I'll tell you there's a narrow 18" long scratch on the top of the front bumper and the A/C does not currently work. I believe it just needs a recharge. The prior owner had the car sitting in his garage for 2 years before I bought it so the refrigerant probably leaked out. The passenger seat belt receiver is not installed either but I do have one. You'll need to remove the passenger seat to bolt it to the floor. Other than these 3 items the car is all there and comes with an EFI programming unit too. It does not burn a single drop of oil either and no leaks. I also replaced the rubber seal around the gas tank filler tube which often leaks on 2000 to 2003 Mustangs. Adjustable shocks on all four corners. I can't say enough great things about this car. I wasn't a fan of the wing on the back when I bought it but all of my 50 year old friends love it. I love it and the car too, but I get a new toy for the garage every year or two and I have my eye on an Aston Martin now. I've owned a Pro Street Duster, a Road Runner, a Camaro, an A/C Cobra. an Audi TT, a Mercedes CL55 AMG before this plus many others over the years. I never owned a Mustang in my 50+ years here on this earth so I had to buy this after looking around really hard. I take great care of every thing I own including my bikes and my boat and this Mustang was no exception. It was always garaged by the prior owner and occupies the premier spot in my 3 car garage. The paint is in great shape as is the entire car and the car is beautiful, no rust either. You can't go wrong buying this car and you'll save a lot of money on insurance too! If you want to come by and see the car before bidding I can accommodate you but only I drive the car, not you and I require at least 24 hours notice and please don't stand around and talk a lot after you see the car - I'm a very busy guy. I live 5 miles off I95 near the town of North East, Md (Exit 100 - Rt 272) and you're welcome to come check it out. PAYMENT INFORMATION - READ CAREFULLY So - here's the deal on Payment. If you're the winning bidder I require a non refundable $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction end AND the balance must be paid IN CASH within 7 days.
