Vehicle Detail
Owned and driven for the past 9 years, during which time it has been garaged except for sunny day excursions. This has been in Alabama and Georgia its entire life. It underwent restoration in the late '70s- it was originally coral/white. The 265 V8 and Powerglide transmission (which has been refurbished) are as born with. There is a new duel exhaust aluminized system, rebuilt generator, rebuilt carb, and Petronix elec. distributor conversion. The electric top motor is new but the hydrolic hoses need to be replaced to work. The tires have very few miles on them andthe entire drum brake system has been rebuilt. This convertible is very road worthy and could be enjoyed for years or would be an excellent candidate for a highly desired restoration project. It is 100% complete as is. I have listed this vehicle for the owner and has been inspected bumper to bumper. I have sold many cars for this owner as well as restored them. My concerns and comments are listed: A significant amout of rust can be found on the lower rockers as well as the bottom of the quarters. The trunk splash panel and brace also show signs of rust. Trunk floor and inner quarter panels only need light patch work. You can tell by looking at the car that all these issues were present but not fixed during the'70s restoration. On a lighter note. The hood, trunk, doors and fenders appear solid. A small area on the left door box is questionable. Rt door glass is cracked but owner has a replacement. Windshield also has a dime size chip. Chips in the paint are found on every panel as well as paint bubbling on factory lead joints (common). Interior is in excellent shape and shows very little wear. Engine runs good but has a coolant leak around the upper housing cover. This car is a great vehicle and I have personally driven it to local shows. It really is a nice car and you would be pleased with your purchase. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, Thanks.
