FOR SALE: 1953 CHEVY BEL AIR 4 DOOR SEDAN 6 cylinder Engine, Auto Transmission, 4 Door Sedan, Blue in color with Blue Enterior I am selling the Bel Air for my father and the following description will be in his own words. Up for sale is my 53 Chevy Bel Air, My wife and I have enjoyed this car for over 2.5 yrs, but I am over 80 now and need to stop thinking 60! I would not be afraid to leave in this car for California in the next 30 minutes, the car would make it just fine. Not sure about myself, but I cannot hear this car idle, but step on the gas and you here the mellow tones of the Duel Pipes with Split Manifolds! The 235 Six will take you anywhere at 65 - 70 mph all day. The car is not perfect but no major repairs with it. There is a small leak at the transmission, O-Ring at the shifter arm needs replaced, but you should not have to pull the transmission. Small leak at the rear Need Gasket for the inspection plate. Windshield wiper rod for the drivers side has slipped off, I have never used them anyway, I use Rain-X. Am Radio does not work. I feel like my reserve is low and I welcome anyone to inspect the car for themselves.
