Now here’s a “COOL” car that’s in need of a total restoration. These are probably one of the most loved muscle cars of all time and probably one of the most cloned of all cars as well. What is great about this car is it’s still in its original paint. Also, this car is a survivor. Notice how it’s not all rusted, especially for a convertible car. Look at the original trunk floor and rear quarters which are amazingly good. I do not have the original 396 and don’t believe the transmission and shifter are original. After doing some research on this car, it appears there were about 1000 SS convertibles built in 1970. They talk about the survival rate was not good because being sold to young people and they were fast. So how many of the real deal cars are actually left , probably not many. And here is someone’s chance to own a factory red convertible with white interior and white stripes with factory four speed and probably doesn’t get much better than that. This car really needs a museum quality restoration and that’s why I’m letting it go. There is a picture of the damage to the frame and the front fender.
