Vehicle Detail
Auction is for 2 bikes and all parts shown in pics. 1966 and 1964 Honda 300 Dreams. I have owned these for about 10 years and have had them in storage and decided that this was the year to get them running. The 66 (white one) is the nicer of the two. The carb and fuel petcock were rebuilt, air filter replace with cone style, battery replaced, oil changed, new plugs, points, and condenser. Started on the second kick after sitting 10 years! I put on new mirrors, replaced the speedometer cable, adjusted the brakes and gave it a good cleaning and polishing. There were some paint chips and scratches in a few spots so they were touched up and it looks pretty nice all over. The chrome on the tank and wheels is in nice shape - not perfect but nice. The mufflers are stock but do not have baffles. There was surface rust at the end of the mufflers (look at pictures) so I touched it up with aluminum paint and it looks OK for being 45 years old. I did replace the front header pipes so they are brand new as well as the exhaust o-rings. The center stand is there and works but it does not come up by itself - you have to put your foot under it and lift it into position. It appears that some welding was done over the years to the bracket where it attaches which may be the cause. Side stand works good. The seat is pretty nice with a vinyl repair on the front right side(see pictures). There is still some work to do like a few new cables to replace and new tires and tubes should also be done. The tires have good tread but are weather checked and have some cracking between the treads. I did update license plates and have clear title in my name. I have only driven this up and down my driveway which is about 600 feet long but believe everything else to be fine. All lights work, headlight high/low, indicators for neutral, high beam, and instrument lights, tail-light and brake light and horn. I have one ignition key for it. The 64 (black one) has had the carb cleaned and fuel petcock rebuilt, battery replaced, oil changed, plugs were checked as well as points cleaned and gapped. The engine is strong with good compression and runs good. Started up after about 4 kicks. Electric start works too. Cleaned and polished with a little touch up work on some paint chips and scratches but looks pretty nice. The chrome has some pitting on the tank and the chrome on the front and rear wheels has some bilstering (see pictures). The mufflers were replaced with new aftermarket and have a nice throaty sound. The center stand works but needs a new spring (it does stay up), side stand works fine. The seat should be recovered (see pictures). Tires should be replaced as well as tubes(checked and cracking). I replaced the front brake cable with a new one as well as the speedometer cable. All lights work, high/low(wiggle the switch a little), instrument, neutral, high beam indicator, tail light and brake light and the horn. There are still some cables that should be replaced and a few other little things. There is no left side carb cover. The ignition switch does not have a key but is rigged so any key or screwdriver works. The biggest problem with this one is second gear. It does not always go into second gear and jumps out, sometimes right into third. The clutch is fine and 1st, 3rd and 4th, but there is a problem with second. I do not know what it is but have purchased another complete engine, and also a semi-complete transmission and lower end to use as parts for someone to complete the repairs. Has clear title in my name and current license plates. I have also been collecting parts from swap meets, etc. over the years and all parts in the pictures will be included with the sale. There is a considerable amount of items as you can see. There is also a repair manual that is in very good condition which will be included. I have tried to tell everything that I can about these bikes but please remember that they are 45 and 47 years old and may require some tinkering, etc. The reason I am selling is because I no longer have any interest in collector motorcycles and would rather go fishing, hunting. I will not ship but will help loading. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit by Paypal is due in 24 hours after end of auction. The remainder in cash or by certified or cashiers check, (must clear before pick-up) with-in 7days after end of auction or items will be re-listed. Must be picked up within 14 days after closing of auction. Please feel free to ask questions or if you are in the neighborhood to take a first hand look. I have more pics available upon request. Thank You.
