This is one Sweet Westfalia! Dry as can be, little to 0 rust on this bus. The wheel wells are incredibly clean and still show it's original Chianti red paint, floors are solid and clean. This is just a very solid example, it will be very difficult to find one cleaner under $20,000.00 The engine is a freshly rebuilt 1776 that only has about 50 miles on it, if that. It starts right up and purrs like a good VW engine should. The 1776 gives it that extra push that these old bus's are notorious for needing to help them get out of there own way. The steering is tight and drives straight down the road, the brakes stop well and the transmission shifts flawlessly through all gears. After it's recent respray in it's original Chianti red paint, all new window rubber, door rubber seals, pop top and roof rack seals were installed. All doors open and close properly with out the need of any special tricks, or" magic touch", . The new upholstery is gorgeous and well made by Quality Auto Upholstery here in Ventura. All wood paneling on ceiling, floor and side walls have been redone in a beautiful natural birch wood with 3 layers of clear to protect them from years of wear and tear. Aside from the rebuilt engine, this bus has recently received a trans axle fluid change, new cv boots where needed and new ti rod ends and steering control arm in the front end.
