NICE 1981 VW DIESEL TRUCK. THIS TRUCK HAS A FRESHLY REBUILT 1.6 DIESEL WITH A REMANUFACTURED GERMAN HEAD. I put the high geared 4spd transmission out of an 81 rabbit car so this truck will go 70+ on the flats. I drive this truck 50 miles daily with no problems. The truck has no rust in the strut towers which is pretty common with these. It has Ricaro bucket seats out of a Jetta gli. I also have a topper shell for this truck as well but the back door is a little tweaked and does not close right. This truck gets over 40 MPG on the interstate going 70. It gets better mileage around town. The truck has newer tires, new axles and many other new parts. The interior is decent shape but the dash is cracked like usual. The paint is faded and it has a few dents hear and their as well as a rust spot behind the rear wheel. This truck is very dependable and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. if you have been looking for one of these trucks that you can drive while you finish, this is it! Thanks for looking.
