Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on eBay. The description you are reading is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the time I've spent behind the wheel as well as my own observations. While I strive for complete accuracy in my descriptions, I am human and you are bidding on a used vehicle with miles in excess of 100k. Each potential bidder is encouraged to come see and drive any vehicle before bidding. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a fairly rare 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo edition. The Olds Toronado is one of my favorite cars...I buy every one I see, which isn't many. The 1992 Model year was the last year that the Toronado was produced, with just over 5,000 made with the Trofeo package, with less than 500 made in Navy Blue Metallic...even less with the matching Dark Saffire leather interior. There are only 44 Toronado's in existance that are identical to this one. Please keep in mind that this is a Tornado that has been driven. I would rate the exterior condition as ABOVE AVERAGE for a vehicle with similar age and miles. There are two small dents and some typical scratches and scuffs here and there. All in all, this one has held up to the miles pretty well. The paint still shines well, even though it is in clear need of a coat of wax. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. The headlight motors still work. The wheels have some rash on the lips but aren't too bad. The tires look nearly new all around. I have bought and sold several of these. Even though most people don't know what they are, I still get looks every time I drive one. I would rate the interior of this Toronado as AVERAGE for the age and miles. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets still show well for the age. There is some wear on the outer bolster of the drivers seat but it still is every bit as comfortable as new. The rest of the seats are in great condition. The headliner is loose and not in good general repair. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors are all working properly. What makes this car somewhat of an oddity is that it does not have the touch screen control center. The climate control is still fully automatic and is working. The air conditioner will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold. The stereo is original and works fine. Some of the steering wheel controls for stereo and climate control are loose or missing. The trunk is clean and spacious. This Toronado still has its original owners manual. The only stupid thing that this one does...is the car thinks the drivers door is constantly open. There is a little sensor there which is most likely loose. Not the end of the world, in my opinion. Mechanically, this Oldsmobile appears to be in good running condition. The famous 3.8L engine fires right up and runs very well. This engine has been a staple of General Motors for almost two decades. This car does have a good amount of miles. I haven't seen any leaks, but there may be a small leak or two given the age of the vehicle. The engine keeps nice and cool, as well as great oil pressure. The suspension is better than I expected for a car of this age. The steering is responsive and has no noticable play. The front brakes will need resurfaced or replaced as there is noticable pulsation in the pedal under braking. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. These are great drivers cars. They are geared perfectly for cruising down the interstate. The Toronado is cousin to the Riviera and Eldorado, so the ride is great...but not floaty thanks to the Trofeo suspension (formerly the FE3 option). I would hop in this car and drive it anywhere with confidence. I've owned several Toronado's of all areas of the spectrum. This one cruises as nice as the last 40,000 mile one I sold. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a fairly rare 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo edition. The Olds Toronado is one of my favorite cars...I buy every one I see, which isn't many.
