While I strive for 100% accuracy in my descriptions, you are bidding on a ised vehicle with miles in excess of 100k. I cannot guarantee anything. I am not a mechanic. I do not have the training or equippment to offer a professional mechanical inspection. Every potential bidder is encouraged to see this vehicle in person before bidding. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300SE. As you can see, this vehicle looks great. I would rate the exterior condition of this Mercedes as ABOVE AVERAGE. The white/gray exterior shines great from any angle. There are no dents, dings or scratches worth mentioning. There is some pitting on the chrome of the front bumper. There is NO RUST on the body of this Mercedes! All of the glass and lenses are in tact. The wheels show well and the tires have good tread all around. They definitely don't make Mercedes' like this any more. Anyone who has driven an actual Mercedes and a "Chrysler" Mercedes knows exactly what I mean. Please review all of the close up photos in detail to appreciate the extraordinary condition of this Mercedes-Benz. I would rate the interior of this 300SE to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. As you can see, the interior of this vehicle is in near mint condition. The door panels are all clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The headliner is clean and in tact. The leather trimming is in great condition. The leather seats are in excellent condition throughout and show very well. The wood trim is in good condition for the age, showing minimal cracks in the varnish. The panel by the window switches is a little loose. Both power seats are working properly. The power mirrors, windows and sunroof are working properly. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The air conditioning will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold any more. The factory original stereo system is not working properly. Replacing the cassette deck with a modern CD player would remedy that problem. The cup holders are still in good condition. The original first aid kit is still in its storage compartment. The trunk is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this 300SE appears to be in good condition. The inline six cylinder engine starts up easily and runs smoothly. There is a little noise up front in one of the accessories which may need addressed sooner than later. During my time driving this vehilce, it kept a good temperature and holds excellent oil pressure. The suspension is showing a little age but isn't too bad considering the age of the vehicle. Worst case, I'd say it could use new bushings or shocks in the back and maybe lower ball joints up front. It drives nice and strait down the road. The brakes stop the car very well. The steering is tight and responsive. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. I noticed no leaks or smoke from the engine. Overall, this is a nice, older big Benz in uncommonly good physical condition. You're not likely to pass another Mercedes as nice as this out and about.
