Vehicle Detail

1964 AMC Rambler Ambassador 990 Sedan. Excellent original condition. This is an unmolested original. The interior was covered in that bubbled plastic since it was new but had yellowed. So I took it off, and this is the like new interior it revealed. The driver seat bottom has a couple minor spots that could use attention. Everything else, and I mean everything is like new. The seat botttoms and backs are just amazing with the original fabric clean and pristine. You can see the original sparkly threads all through the cloth. The doors are perfect and the carpet is in amazing shape too. The dash is soft, supple with no cracks. It is obvious the car has been garaged most of its life, with very little fading on the interior surfaces. The headliner is like new, no stains, no marks at all. The clock works sometimes for a day and sometimes not at all. The AM radio works, but is static-y. It has been repainted previously, it looks like on the hood, fenders and doors. Good, not great repaint. However, it shines well and shows well. The top paint appears original and looks to be in excellent shape. The windshield has a chip which doesn't really show, but it could be touched up by any glass guy. The exterior looks just like the pictures. I found an NOS grille and one of the two headlamp surrounds, so the front end really looks amazing. The chrome is again in good shape, especially the extruded surrounds on the doors, almost always in poor shape on this generation of Ramblers/AMCs. There does not appear to be any rust underneath and the car as a whole is 7.5-8 out of 10 with the interior easily 8.5 to 9/10. The 327 V8 starts right up everytime, idles well and has strong acceleration. The brakes are good, but seem to pull to the right a bit, so need some adjustment. The transmission shifts perfectly, no slippage at all. Recently, I had the entire cooling system gone through, including new hoses, belts, water pump, thermostat and coolant. Pictures tell it best. Email or call with any questions. Five six2 260-four 999. These are getting harder and harder to find, and if you do find one, it is probably not in this great original condition. Similar to the Matador, Marlin.
