Vehicle Detail
This is a Honda Shadow from the first year they were introduced. This Bike was number 1918 off the assembly line. The beginning of what became the most popular road bikes ever. In 1983, Honda introduced the Shadow series of motorcycles in an attempt to address the needs of the American cruiser market with the "VT500c" and "VT750c". However, due to tariff restrictions in the United States on imported Japanese bikes over 750 cc, the VT750c was reduced to 699cc in 1984 and was sold as the Vt700c. In 1985, the tariff was lifted and the line soon expanded to an 1100cc bike the "VT1100c". The VT750c was replaced by an 800cc version the VT800c in 1988. The "VT750C" also introduced in 1983 with the VT500c was also available in either Black or Candy Wineberry Red. Special identifying features of this model are the round head lamp, instrument casings and the chromed front fender. The backrest was standard equipment. The painted side covers had the "Shadow 750" decal. The engine is a 749 cc SOHC 3-valve Liquid Cooled V-Twin with a six-speed shaft drive transmission. The bike runs, and comes with a newer battery not shown in the photo. I have been riding it for the past 3 years and am selling to pay for our move. The color is a slightly metallic Ghost Grey. Its a great bike for the price, but is sold as-is due to a few small repairs that could be completed by you or a shop. The seat is from a newer Harley and needs to be mounted. The rear brake light and blinkers need to be connected. They worked fine before the sissy bar was removed. The tires have less than 300 miles on them since installation. Sissy bar/2up seat included. Please feel free to ask any question you may have. No shipping unless pre-arranged and paid for by buyer. Bike is located in Kenosha WI dead center between Chicago and Milwaukee. Seller not responsible for injury, or death incurred while operating this motorcycle. Always wear a helmet. Motorcycle is sold as-is to a buyer willing to make road ready, and safe to ride. In some states blinkers are not required, but brake lights are mandatory everywhere. Thanks SLIPKNOTT9
