1966 Honda CL

HONDA CL72 SCRAMBLER #CL72-1505389 One Family since new. Brought to California from Japan by my dad when he was in the Navy. Purchased as is new from Honda in Japan through the BX. I am not a Honda expert but I do know this bike is very rare and seems to be a mix of early and late features when compared to the US CL72. It has a clear non op California title with DMV papers for easy transfer . The bike was put away running back in 1999 and has not been kicked over since. A wife and 2 kids later I still have not found time to dust it off so unfortunately it is time to pass it on to a good home. Paint on frame and chrome are original. I know the tank has been painted but I believe the fenders are original paint. Very minor surface rust here and there mostly on the horn and trailing edge of the front fender where the paint is chipped a bit. My dad had the inside of the tank cleaned and sealed in the mid 80s and the carbs rebuilt at the same time by the local Honda dealer .The bike has only done just over 8800 miles so it has done a lot of sitting. It has been covered in a hangar most of its life and ridden mostly by my Grandfather to and from the Airport. Tank badges x2 one is near mint and says HONDA 250. The other badge says 250 dream and is quite good as well . Small box of nos bits includes an owners book, mirrors and exhaust baffles. Also a seat strap, headlamp ring and extra foot pegs . Please note: I did not clean or dust off the bike at all before taking these pictures . Elbow grease will go a long way. We also have a very nice single rail trailer which could be included in this auction if you wish. Good tires and lights. Number plate included on file at DMV for easy transfer as well.
