Each vehicle is thoroughly road tested before being listed on eBay. This description is based on my experience and observations of this vehicle only. While I stive for complete accuracy of each description I write, I cannot guarantee it...as I am not a mechanic, nor do I posess the skills, training or equippment to perform a professional inspection. Pre-bid inspections are encouraged when possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1995 Buick Riviera coupe. I would rate the exterior condition of this Buick as BELOW AVERAGE. As you can see, there are several scratches, scrapes and scuffs all over this vehilce. All of the panels appear to line up properly which would suggest no structural damage...rather, it looks like it was parked by a blind valet (repeatedly). All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires are okay. This car has definitely seen better days...but it still has plenty of use left to it for the right buyer. I bought this car for the engine...but it is just sitting around in my warehouse taking up space. I am doing some pre-winter cleaning. This one is on my list to go. I would rate the interior of this Riviera as ABOVE AVERAGE. The interior is actually pretty nice and looks to have been well kept. I believe this is a two owner vehicle. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets and headliner are in decent shape for the year and miles. The seats look good. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors are all working properly. The stereo system sounds good. The climate control system is fully automatic. The air conditioner blows cold. The trunk is clean and spacious. Overall, the cabin is pretty nice. Mechanically, this Buick has two issues. As I said, I purchased this car for the engine. The 3.8L supercharged engine is one of my favorites...especially the early ones. When I purchased the car, the engine would begin to run hot after running a bit. There was no smoke and no sign of leaks. It made gobs of power and would break the tires loose at will in first or second gear. The suspension felt good, as did the brakes and steering. I was able to retrieve the old owners information and called him to inquire about it overheating. He was nice enough to call me back. He told me he had no idea. He took it in to get looked at and ended up trading it in on a new vehicle. The only thing he mentioned was that he had occasional trouble with the PassKey security system. That is the older GM keys with the chip in them. The car won't start without reading that chip...but over time, the chip wears down from use. This is very common with older GM cars. I joked with him that it starts everytime for me...and that's the last time it started, so I guess the joke is on me. I don't know what is involved in getting a new key made but I will try to find out. Either way, the new buyer should plan to tow it home. Even if the car decides it likes you and wants to start for you...there is still the overheating issue.
