Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before I list a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. I then write a thorough description so hopefully you feel as if you've seen and driven it yourself. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained wthin this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. All serious bidders are encouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most of them are trades from local dealerships and have not been serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please read the entire description carefully and review all photos closely before asking questions or placing a bid. Everything I know about this vehicle is disclosed within the following paragraphs... Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4x4. The Montero is a legendary off road vehicle that is the choice of many people around the world due to it's rugged construction and reliability. Whether it's going to soccer practice, transporting a diplomat or driving around the jungle with a machine gun mounted to it...the Montero seems to be a popular choice. This exapmle is finished in dark red and is outfitted with the very desirable Endeavor option package ( a $3,600 option new). As you can see, this is a great looking truck. It's a little known fact that the body of the Montero was actually designed by Pininfarina in Italy. Pininfarina is the designer behind Ferrari and Alfa Romeo...to name just two. I would rate the exterior as ABOVE AVERAGE. The paint has a deep shine that looks great from any angle. The wide fenders and running boards add to the good looks of this truck. The alloy wheels are in good condition as are the tires. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. There are no major scratches or dents worth mentioning. I could find NO RUST on the body of this truck. I would rate the interior of this Mitsubishi as ABOVE AVERAGE. The door panels are clean and in tact throughout. The carpets show some minor stains from use but are not excessively worn and could probably look new again with minimal effort. The headliner is clean and in tact. The leather trimmed interior and seats are in great condition throughout. This is a seven passenger vehicle thanks to the jump seats in the rear that fold up and out of the way for cargo storage. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks, mirrors, seat and sunroof all work properly. Speaking of sunroofs...this truck has the biggest sunroof I have ever seen. Positioned in the center of the vehicle, the sunroof measures nearly 3'x4'. The seats sit nice and high for excellent visibility while driving. The stereo system is the factory original premium CD sound system which sounds great. The climate control system is working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. This truck comes with a complete set of owners books as well as the original $36,000 window sticker. It also comes with factory remote entry (two keys, two remotes). The remotes work but the part that holds the key ring to the plastic remote is broken on both remotes. Mechanically, this Montero appears to be in good running condition. This is the first Montero I have had the chance to own so I am not en expert on them. The 3.5L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or leaks coming from the engine. I have driven this vehicle in excess of 100miles. During my time driving it, I have been pretty impressed by this truck. The engine holds proper temperature and good oil pressure. There is an airbag light on. The suspension, steering and brakes all feel good to me. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD system is tested and working. Out on the highway, this truck cruises easily and comfortably. There is no pulling or vibrations at speeds of up to 80mph. At times, I have heard a faint humming sound around 40mph. I couldn't pinpoint its exact origin. If I had to guess, I'd put my money on a wheel bearing which is not very expensive. If I'm right, it will probably need replaced within the next 6-12 months. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
