Vehicle Detail
Here is a nice example of an early 70's cb750 that survived with lo/w miles and mostly original. The gas tank was damaged and rusty so I found a 75 tank that is the cleanest inside I have ever seen. Newer front tire, back tire has some cracking in sidewall so should be replaced, new plugs, oil, oil filter, clutch cable, carbs rebuilt with new brass as well, new battery, good back brakes, good clutch, original tool kit, no smoke, strong and smooth positive shifting tranny, fork boots are nice, new clutch lever, rims are nice but the spokes not so much. Now for the still needs done category. The #1 ex pipe is rusted through under the foot peg. This could be fixed but I would replace it due to the fact that the other 3 original pipes are very nice, the #4 exhaust collar or clamp has a broken bolt in it and I could not get the pipe off to change it, the seatcover is cut, small ding in front fender, couple small dings in gas tank, small scuffs on ends of #1 & #2 ex pipe and a small scuff on back edge of heat shield on #1 pipe, electrical side cover has bottom tab broke and the cover has been fixed, and someone before me couldnt get the stock wiring harness out of the bars that needed changed so they cut the ends off both harness leads that go through the bars. I also did not get a key with the bike so I patched into existing ignition leads with an ignition from the auto parts store to ensure everything was working right as far as the charging system and it charges great. Also the lights all work except for the turn signal and high beam indicator lights. The speedo lights up but not the tack but I think it just needs bulbs. The electric start is not hooked up, the kill switch is bypassed, The turn signals, horn and high beam switches are not hooked up. Needs new speedo cable. I would have all this done but ran out of time. Moving and need the money. I have shaken the bike down on a few short rides and it is a very nice rider. The ONLY issue is that it may need a little bigger main jets due to the fact that the stock exhaust baffles are missing. I replaced the junk front master cylinder with an early 1970 model year unit that works great. Also, I replaced the rusty back shocks with some off a 70 model year bike and they are an inch or so shorter than the originals. Dont let the needs done list detour you. What still needs done is mostly cosmetic and the bike is in rideable condition. This would make someone a nice bike and at a reasonable price. Reserve is modest for this bike and title is open. May be able to help with delivery within a reasonable distance and I have shipped many bikes so dont worry about any hangups there. Any ?'s call 765-273-0340 and ask for ken. Thanks for looking. I almost forgot, I have all the original turn signals as well as the original gas tank and oil tank side cover minus the emblem to go with the bike as well as the seat lock and ignition minus the key. Also, the retro municicpal license plate is not included but could be purchased seperately. Check my other auctions for clean wrinkle tank and gauges off an early 70 model year cb750. Thanks again. On Sep-21-11 at 07:33:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I just put the front rotor dust shield back on the bike and added an old cummins oil pressure gauge on the motor. I will try and add pics later.
