1997 BMW 528i Alpine White, Sand Leather, Premium Package, Comfort Seats, Automatic Transmission, Sunroof, 6 disc CD changer, cruise, power everything. The a/c works great without any issue in over 100 degree TX heat. This car has been garaged its whole life in either Plano or Sherman, TX. It is super clean and probably in better shape than anyone you can find. The interior really looks close to new with the exception of the wear on the drivers seat, door handle area and of course the broken drink holders. The paint/body is outstanding. I just buffed it and it looks great. I also detailed under the hood by hand. It has a ding on the front passenger fender and hood but doesn't have any other door dings. It's remarkable how good it looks for the age/mileage. There are a few scratches on the front passenger door. The worst part on the car was from running over a piece of rubber on the highway. It damaged the front lower bumper and knocked out a fog light. All of this is detailed in a 179 picture photo album that is linked at the bottom. I purchased the car (in December of 2009) from the second owner who I have known my whole life. They are car show fanatics and take better care of their vehicles than anyone I know. They babied this car and we have continued this. My wife is a schoolteacher and drove it to work. The car was purchased from Classic BMW by a family in Plano, TX and I have the original window sticker, manuals, service records, summary etc. It has had Mobil 1 synthetic its whole life. There hasn't been any paintwork to my knowledge and no major mechanical issues. I replaced the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, power steering lines, flushed the cooling system. Dallas Precision Imports replaced the idler, tensioner, and pulleys last year. The front rotors/pads and rear rotors were replaced about 25k miles ago and are in good shape. It does have a small oil leak that makes a drop about once every week or two and I believe is coming from the rear main. The tires have 20k miles on them. Two of them are in good shape and two need replacement. They are BFG's. I detailed under the hood by hand without water. Just spraying cleaner on a rag and wiping in down. So don't worry about a used car detail where they powerwash the engine and then spray it down. The car is located in west Plano and availabe for viewing. I have a clear Texas title in hand. The trunk release push button does not work. I have not looked at why it doesn't work. Just put the key in the trunk and it works just fine. Also, while test driving this weekend I noticed the FM radio reception would go in and out-AM and CD player work fine. Looks like a common problem to the E39 and the fix is to clean the antenna connector or just put in an aftermarket FM antenna from radio shack which should result increased reception over the stock antenna. I plan to address this issue this weekend as it looks like a simple fix. I have lowered the reserve to $5,000 to move the car as I need the garage space. Please do not ask for me to end the auction early either. The auction will run to the end.
