1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT Spyder VR4 - Hard Top Convertible Twin Turbo, 6 speed manual transmission, all wheel drive, all wheel steering. Power retractable hard top folds into trunk. Trunk lid and hard top have automatic hydraulic controls. Red exterior, charcoal leather interior, AC, PS, PB, Premium Factory AM/FM stereo in dash cassette deck, 6 CD magazine Pioneer CD player, power driver seat. LCD automatic glare control on rear view mirror. The original sticker price was >$80,000, EPA gas mileage was listed as 17/24. This car is loaded. 42,352 original mile California car. The body is in 8 out of 10 condition. The paint is original and looks very good, but there is some clear coat coming off and some of the fiber glass has matted. The interior a 9 out of 10. Car was never smoked in. The leather is in excellent condition with almost no wear, and the rest of the interior is very clean. This is a very limited edition car, the first hard top convertible in production since the 1957 Ford Fairlane. (There is much information about this model on the net). No Accidents, but some barrels fell from a truck and scratched the body panels which was fixed many years ago. The car is not drivable at the moment. (See below) The transmission is broken and needs to be rebuild or replaced. It is stuck in first gear and does not budge. The engine turns over just fine, but I don’t want to start it without changing fluids (oil, water, breaking fluid, & checking AC fluid), replacing the gasoline (it is old) and having a working transmission. Since it is all wheel drive with various cleaver differentials connecting all four wheels and a viscous coupling with a limited slip differential in the rear axle, it should always be towed with all four wheels off the ground (typically on a flatbed tow-truck) even if the transmission was working. Having the gearbox locked up (probably in first gear, hard to tell) it must be towed to a garage and have the transmission fixed before it can be driven. Fluids in differentials etc., should also be replaced. Electrical system including windows, seat control, AC controls, and stereo all appears to be fully functioning. The battery is old, but was chargeable and able to crank the engine and power the electronics by itself. The power roof and trunk lid can’t be moved automatically until the gearbox interlock is moved into neutral or otherwise bypassed. However, they can be moved manually for emergencies, but it is an elaborate process that I have not attempted yet. Last time the car was running, the hydraulic systems and computer running the retractable hard-top and trunk-lid worked perfectly. I see no reason they would not still work. The car needs new tires, but rims etc. are in fine shape. The LCD in the automatic glare-control mirror might be broken. The actual LCD backed mirror element tend to have a limited lifespan due to the organic fluid in the LCD. The car has always been stored in a car-port, or with a custom made (1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder VR-4 with 2 mirror pockets) car cover from Wolf Automotive.
