Vehicle Detail

Badass custom, unlike other crappy chop jobs on old Hondas. Many new parts and Updates. Low Miles. You will never ever see another bike like this. Totally one of a kind, chopped frame, sported, custom, clean rat rod bat outta hell! !!!NO RESERVE!!!! History: Purchased this GL1100 X Rat Rod from a mechanic in Sonora, CA while I lived in Yosemite, CA about 3 years ago. He had taken very, very good care of her and she never gave me a single problem. She has the notoriously bullet-proof 4-cylander 1100cc engine that lasts 200,000 miles easily with simple oil changes and care. I rode it around the national park lightly before winter and then stored it. Moved down to Southern California, had carbs and float box cleaned and purchased a new rear tire ($350), then put her in the garage for refurbishing. Still registered as Plan Non-Op from storage. Listed below you will find all of the things that have been updated/replaced this year while in storage (~ $1500 and hundreds of man hours). The day I finished the updates, I put in new spark plugs and pressed the start button…and of course she fired right up on the first shot. I have ridden her around the neighborhood a few times per week to keep her hot and the fluids flowing. She has been really fun and I haven’t gone anywhere without tons of people hovering around and asking questions. It truly will be hard to sell her after investing so much time and money and good times, but I’ll be moving and I’m still on the unemployment list, so the money will be very helpful (though I’m sure I’ll get way under her value on ebay). Details: I removed the original dash that the previous owner had mounted to the handlebars. I ride the bike without speedo, tach, or turn signals because it’s cleaner and looks badass. Speedo and Tach are included in sale in case you want to reinstall. Turn signals are simple to install, and the necessary wiring and cancellation unit are included. I’m not running wiring to handlebars to keep them clean, but necessary pieces are included with sale in case you want to (I have run a setup and switch near headlight for high beam, and a second available switch you can use for other accessories). I run the bike without the rear fender, which I think looks awesome! Like a bat out of hell. But I am selling the bike with the fender attached because some people said that they like it better that way. I also run the metal seat which I intentionally “aged” and clear coated since it looks awesome. However, there is an almost new padded seat included as well. Rear brake set-up is included in case you want to reinstall. There are two disc brakes in front, however only one is set up to the brake lever. It would be easy to run a line to the other disc if desired for more stopping power, but I never got around to doing it (the second video explains how easy it should be). Because of sport bike suspension, the bike does not support the original kickstand (included) but instead relies on the center stand which is better to use anyway. Finally, there is a totally original coolant reservoir set-up: it feeds into a new chrome stem on the right fork tube. I’m sure there are many many more mods to list, but I can’t wrap my head around all of the dramatic differences between this bike now and when it was original. Please, feel free to contact me with all inquiries. Sold as is. Updated This Year: Harley Split Gas Tank New Petcock, Gas Caps, and Fuel Supply Lines New Headlight and Headlight Fork Clamps All New Wiring / Electrical/ Fuses New Taillight / Brake Light/ License Plate Mount New K&N Washable Oversized Air Cleaner New Spark Plugs (all four) Carbs and Float Boxes Cleaned (1 year ago prior to storage) Replaced Sport Suspension (from 2002 Yamaha FZ1) Replaced Both Seat Shocks (new) Added Ape Hangers and New Cables (clutch and push/pull throttle) Replaced Both Exhaust Slip-Ons More… Also includes: Extra Seat (Almost New and Padded) New Bar Mounted Switches for Turn Signals and/or Horn if you choose to install Previous Spark Plugs (lightly used, still good!)
