Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. Then I write a detailed description so you feel as if you've seen and driven it yourself. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. All serious bidders are encouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most of the vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and have not been serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please read the ENTIRE description carefully and review all photos in detail before asking questions or placing a bid. Everything I know about this vehicle is fully disclosed within the following paragraphs... Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1996 Infiniti I-30 Touring sedan. As you probably know, the I-30 is based off of the Nissan Maxima. This example is finished in black/black with the desirable Touring Package. I would rate the condition of the body of this Infiniti as AVERAGE. This car is what I call a nice 10 footer. From outside ten feet, this car looks great. The body lines are clean, the paint shines well and looks good. Up close, you can see that this is clearly a used vehicle. There are scratches and scrapes on both the front and rear bumpers. There are several scratches on the body. The most obvious ones are on the hood and trunk (probably from a purse) and one long one on the passenger side. There is also a small dent in front of the left rear wheel. I did not see any rust on the body of this Infiniti which is great news considering that these cars are often rusty by this age. The tires appear to be in good condition and show plenty of tread all around. The Touring Edition wheels are in average condition and are missing a center cap or two. All in all, this is a good looking car...but it is 15 years old and shows it. I would rate the interior of this I-30 to be in average condition. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are mostly clean and not excessively worn. The leather trimmed interior shows minor wear and is in good condition for its age. The wood trim is also in decent condition throughout. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work as they should. The shade to the sunroof will not close...but the sunroof itself works perfectly. The stereo has been upgraded to a CD system and sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be functioning as it should. The air conditioner will need charged/serviced as it does not blow cold anymore. The I-30 is one of my favorite cars. It offers an excellent value for your dollar compared to other luxury cars of similar size. Mechanically, I would say that this Infiniti is in good running condition. The I-30 borrows its engine and transmission from the Nissan Maxima...which gives it a reliable reputation and reasonable prices for parts and service. The 3.0L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or evidence of any leaks. During my road test, this Infiniti behaved well. The engine held proper operating temperature at all times. There is a check engine light on for a fuel vapor purge valve which is very common with the Maxima/I-30. I am no mechanic but I believe a replacement purge valve is sitting in a little box in the trunk. The steering feels excellent. The brakes are strong. I believe there is a small hole in the muffler. It's not really loud but it's a little louder than it probably should be. The only other thing I can think of that this car will need is a left front wheel bearing. That should be on your list to do in the very near future. The transmission engages smoothly and shifted fine. I've driven this car about 100 miles and it drives fine. The odometer reads about 135,xxx miles which I believe are actual miles. In the state of PA, any vehicle over 10 years old is exepmt from odometer disclosure by law...so vehicle will be sold as "exempt". Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
