Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my 1968 Dodge Charger, 383 High Output engine, 727 transmission and 3:23 Sure Trac rear end. Factory a/c (new condenser, dryer, heater control valve and compressor). The car is in overall good condition, it runs great and the transmission is smooth. The paint is an older paint job showing some thin areas but no major issues, a couple of chips and minor bubbling behind tire of passenger rear quarter (see Pictures), overall in good shape (6 or 7 out of 10). The bumpers are in good shape again though if you were going to show the car the would need to be replaced (6 or 7 out of 10). The interior is in good shape although the front drivers seat has a tear in the seam which could be repaired and the chrome of the console is in fair condition needing to be refinished or replaced to show. I would give the interior a 6 or 7 out of 10. Door handles and check molding should be replaced to make it really look great! Overall I would give the car a 6.5 out of ten and it is in much better shape than most I have seen sell for much higher prices. Again this is no show car but it is a matching numbers car and interior appears to never have been replaced and is in very good shape considering it is 43 years old! The car turns heads everywhere I go! Fenders appear to be original and don't appear to have ever been replaced. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good Luck! This is a used car and I suggest coming to see the car or having an independent inspection of it. People's opinion of the condition of a car varies greatly as I have discovered I tried to be as critical as I can of the condition of the vehicle so there will be no misunderstandings. I will not give the reserve price of the car and am selling it locally so I have the right to pull the listing at any time if it sell's. The car is being sold "as is, where is" no warranties intended or implied! On Sep-17-11 at 17:51:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone who looked at my car on ebay had this to say about it (that it is a "67" early production and much more rare than most); Hello Seller, I assume that the build date for this car is late 1967???? There are minor differences noted in the construction of your car compared to all other 68 model chargers. Your trunk lid is quite rare with the separate frame work underneath, some bracing differences in the trunk, Trunk hinge may be different and yours should have come with a different dash (small round) medalion compared to other 68 chargers. I did not notice in your pics if yours had shoulder harness...I'm guessing not. Does your engine have the vin stamped on the pan rail.....It may not because if built in late 67, engines did not have this stamped there. Original engine can be identified by D383 on the pad and cast date 3-4 months before car build date. Compare yours to others on the net and you will see that you have a 68 charger that is different then other 68 chargers and is rarer and possibly sought after by a collector who has an eye for detail. You have a great car! Don't let it go cheap! Steve
