I have to thin the herd according to my wife so I am selling my 1962 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible!!!!! This piece of art was made September 1, 1962 and left the Factory in Germany in September 4, 1962 its destination was ST. LOUIS. I received all this information from the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen. So the car comes with a certificate from Germany! The engine number 6 034 828 and the vin number 4 024 303 all correspond from Wolfgang Doerk from the Stiftung Auto Museum 38436 Wolfsburg, Deutschland. Cars may come and cars may go, but the Volkswagen goes forever!!!!!! My ghia has been repainted, new convertible top, new interior, new tires, new brakes and brake lines, Rebuilt engine last year, seats have been redone, new door skins, new replacement rubber, new interior carpet and the list goes on and on! The ghia runs great! it has less that 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. Floor boards are solid, Rockers are solid, Nose is solid and has never seen an accident the tire compartment is also solid. The body has no patch work and "NO, Mickey Mouse" Bondo Job that these and other VW's have seen from previous owners. All VW lovers know what I am talking about! "Old Girl" is completely solid that's why I bought her many years ago. I have owned my ghia for 10 years before my wife came into the picture, and as I age, my collection of vw's grew so i had to make room for the mini van to fit in the garage or as some may say the (grocery getter).
