Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. Then I write a detailed description so it feels as close to actually seeing and driving the car yourself as possible. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. Any serious bidder is encouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and have not been serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please be sure to read the entire description and review all phtots carefully before placing a bid or asking questions. Everything I know about this vehicle is disclosed within the following paragraphs... Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very clean 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Z-24 coupe. As you can see, this is a great looking Cavalier. Finished in an eye catching burnt orange, this Cavalier gets a lot of looks. I believe this car was originally black, as evidenced in the engine bay. The orange paint job is definitely top notch and was most likely done by a professional. There are no signs or orange peel or other texture in the paint. There are no runs and I did not notice any over spray. The paint job on this car would pass for factory original any day. The alloy wheels look great and are wrapped in performance tires that look practically new all around. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. This is a gorgeous Z-24. I would rate the exterior of this Cavalier to be in EXCELLENT condition. I would rate the interior condition of this Cavalier as ABOVE AVERAGE. The door panels are both clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The seats are in great condition throughout and show no signs of wear. The headliner is clean and in tact. The dash is clean. The climate control system is working. The air conditioner does not blow cold and will need recharged/serviced. The stereo has been upgraded to a CD system and sounds good. This car is equipped with factory remote entry which is working properly. This Z-24 is also equipped with power windows, locks and mirrors which are uncommon to find in a Cavalier. The trunk is clean and spacious. Mechanically, the 2.4L DOHC engine appears to be running well. It starts easily and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or signs of leaks from the engine. During my road test, this Cavalier exhibited good road manners. The suspension and steering are nice and tight as they should be. The engine kept proper temperature and there were no warning lights on. The brakes feel good and stop the car without issue. I believe this car will need a clutch. The pedal is pretty hard to press in and is sometimes hard to get into gear. It will NOT go into second gear at all and sometimes fights to go into the other gears. Of course, I have not had it apart to verify this. It is also possible that the problem could be less or more serious. The worst case would be a problem with the transmission itself. Best case would be that the linkage or clutch cable is out of adjustment (my partner thinks the problem is in the adjustment but I disagree). All I can do is give my best guess based on my experience. I believe it needs a new clutch. The car can be picked up and driven as it is (just without 2nd gear until you get it looked at). Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
