Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. Then I write a detailed description so it feels as close to seeing and driving it as possible. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. Any serious bidder is encouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most of the vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and are not serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before placing a bid or asking questions. Everything I know about each vehicle is fully disclosed within the following paragraphs... Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. I would rate the exterior condition of this Jeep as AVERAGE. It is finished in a blue-ish/purple and looks pretty good. The most obvious thing to point out about this Jeep is that it is missing the plastic side cladding on the lower portion of the doors. It actually doesn't look bad without the extra plastic but you can see the small mounting holes where the moldings should mount. There are no scratches, dings or dents worth mentioning on this Jeep. I saw NO RUST on the body of this Jeep. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The alloy wheels look great and are wrapped in good rubber. Overall, this is a great looking Jeep. I would rate the interior of this Grand Cherokee as ABOVE AVERAGE. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. All of the seats are in remarkable condition and show almost no wear. The cargo area is clean and spacious. Even the console arm rest is still in one piece! The trim looks good, too. This Jeep is equipped with power windows, locks and mirrors. The left rear window does not lower and the little switch is missing from the rear door. All other electronics are in proper working order. The stereo system is the original CD system. One of the left speakers is blown but doesn't sound bad if you move the balance and fade away from that speaker. The climate control system is working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. This Jeep is equipped with factory remote entry which is still working properly. All in all, it looks like someone really took care of this Jeep. Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good condition. The famous 4.0L inline six starts right up and runs smoothly. I saw no smoke or leaks from this truck. During my road test, this Jeep displayed good road manners. There is a little bit of play in the front end which is very common for an older Jeep...and nothing to be too concerned about. The engine keeps a good temperature, the oil pressure is great and there were no warning lights on. The steering is tight and responsive. The brakes stop the truck well. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts as it should. When engaged in forward or reverse, you can hear a faint whining sound. I took it to a garage to have the fluid checked. They flushed the whole transmission out and replaced the fluid at a cost of $150. The old fluid didn't look too bad and there was nothing in it (metal shavings or clutch material) that would suggest a major problem. Something definitely isn't quite right but it does run, drive and shift normally. All you hear is that little noise from time to time. The 4WD is tested and working properly. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
