Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. I then write a detailed description of the vehicle so it feels as close to having seen and driven it yourself as possible. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. Any serious buyer is engouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and have not been serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before bidding or asking questions. Everything I know about this vehicle is disclosed in the following paragraphs... Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1999 Jaguar XJ8 sedan. I would rate the condition of the exterior of this Jaguar as POOR. Looking at the photos, you can easily see that the paint has noticably faded on the hood, roof and trunk. This is a common problem for Jaguars of this time period. Additionally, you will also see a few scuffs and scrapes around the bumpers. The sides of the car look great, for what that's worth. The alloy wheels look good and the tires have good tread all around. I haven't tried to buff the faded areas. I honestly don't think it would do any good. Even if it did, it would not last long in my opinion. One could probably have the faded areas re-painted for a few hundred dollars to make this car turn heads again. I would rate the condition of the interior of this Jaguar as BELOW AVERAGE. The door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets don't look too bad for the miles. The headliner is clean but starting to sag in the rear. The drivers seat shows more wear than usual (large rip in seat...see photo) but the other seats look great. The stereo system is factory and sounds great. There is also a factory CD changer in the trunk. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air, too! All four seats are heated in this Jag. There is a complete set of owners manuals included with this car. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work as they should. This had appears to have no electrical issues. Mechanically, this Jaguar will be sold as a "BUYER BEWARE" vehicle. The 4.0L V8 starts easily and idles smoothly. I have driven it on a few occasions here and there and it appears to drive very well. The engine makes great power and keeps a cool temperature. Sometimes when it's warmed up, I can hear what may be a very slight knocking in the engine. I don't know this engine well enough to definitively state that it is a major issue or not. The oil is full and clean. I didn't see any leaks and the car does not smoke. There are no warning lights on. The transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes are excellent and stop the car quickly from highway speeds. The steering is tight and responsive. The suspension also feels good but the lower front ball joints feel a little thin. This is very common as Jag's age. You'll feel some play in the front end over bumps but it drives nice and strait on the highway. I wish I could tell you more about the noise. It may be nothing major...I'd rather err on the side of caution. I've done absolutely nothing to diagnose it besides but my ear up the the engine. I've also done absolutely nothing to try and remedy the noise, although there are some economical "do it yourself" things to try. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
