Vehicle Detail

My 1979 F350 Ranger XLT Crew Cab rust free. I emphasize that because the cab is in the best condition I've seen on an unrestored 73-79 Ford crew cab. NEW PICTURES!This is a five-day auction and the "buy it now" is set at $3,200. Low for a crew cab in this condition and someone is getting a steal. Automatic transmission and dually with 10,000 GVW. Front disc brakes and rear axle is a Dana 70. A portion of the Marti Report I have is included as a picture. The truck was sold in Wickenburg, AZ and made it's way to Clovis/Albuquerque, NM, and now it's in the dry Texas panhandle (only two inches of rain this year). The dually rear axle and set-up is original from factory. The truck is fully licensed and insured, everything works (it’s got a current Texas inspection sticker) so no problems with lights, gauges, brakes, license plate light, etc. Even the cab lights on top work fine. Driven a lot and starts right up, never given me a problem. Full length headliner--the original--is intact and all the trim is there. Unusual for a truck like this. Has original door panels in excellent shape, both front and back. Interior is very nice. Seats are great and rear seat is near perfect. Dash is uncracked and looks new. No radio. All trim is in tact and good condition. Doors open and close flawlessly and there's no rust. Full-length running boards aren't attached but do come with the truck. The engine runs flawlessly--I've owned a lot of carbureted engines and currently have a 1970 Bronco (302), a 1975 F250 (360), and just sold a 1967 Mustang (289) and this engine is the smoothest one by far. The engine is the heart of the truck and this one is great. It was driven 300 miles to me from Albuquerque and I've driven it a couple hundred miles on a camping trip.Vehicle was sold in Arizona, spent time in New Mexico, now owned by me in Texas panhandle near Amarillo. Cab has no rust in the key places—not in roof, at roof/door seams, roof rails, floor, rocker panels, it’s all very nice and solid. I've added new pictures of the key areas so you can see for yourself. I pulled the headliner off and took a it’s beautiful. The reddish color in the bed is the second layer of paint (same as exterior) and not rust. Three issues to point out: The first is a small bullet hole in rear cab area—it’s clean, just needs a patch and barely noticeable. Apparently a gun discharged behind the rear seat. There's hole in bed from something heavy being dropped (see pic) but no rust. Second, the windshield has large crack and can be replaced. Third, the rear wheel flares are custom made and the metal must not have been prepped well or was low grade because they are rusted in places.Tires tread is in great shape and comes with spare. These are 16.5” bias ply, which means they are rated for serious hauling ability. Bed has no rust and it's a workhorse--I haul a couple tons in this truck and no problems whatsoever--see the pic of the flagstone I picked up a couple months ago. Set up for AC but there is a leak in one main hose and when I hooked up a belt to the compressor I could tell the unit sounded like it needs a rebuild or replacement. It’s a very nice truck for it’s age and it you are looking for a dentside crew cab you won’t be disappointed. The odometer says 35,000 but I don't know if it's actual or 135,000 or more. On Sep-08-11 at 18:40:05 PDT, seller added the following information: The description doesn't indicate if cloth or vinyl seats: These are cloth and in exceptional condition--I've got pictures at the link below. You'll see the front seat pics and they are in great shape; one flaw is a small hole, probably a previous owner and a cigarette ash. The back seat has a cover over it but another pic is with this listing and it's nearly flawless. http://s1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/jump2323/F350/
