1965 volkswagen camper bus(project) Well its time to part with my friend the bus, its been sitting waiting for me to fix for ten years now and well it needs to go to some one who will love it. This bus is not a mint condition grandmas sunday driver(LOL) its been well used,at one time a bracket was mounted on tailgate for a gas can (long gone)and air ducts to force air into engine compartment were installed and holes are still there! we have taken it to many concerts,country fairs hippyfest years ago and we had alot of fun in it! it was solid lime green with beatle bug written in bubble letters on the hatch in the 70's and i put a coat of primer on it years and years ago that is fading away ! it is still a solid west coast bus but does have rust, rust holes on rockers on both sides dents dings chips ect. the engine is out of it now and its a 1600 dp alternator motor it ran great (years ago)and i had a new pressure plate clutch and bearing installed and after that it would start and run then lock up let it sit and it would fire up again? i pulled engine to repair it and never touched it again! This bus shifted and steered good prior to parking it! now due to sitting the tires and brakes went bad! for being an original camper on the inside its still usable seat folds into a bed and lots of storage,fridge is just an ice box this would make a great project for someone. many personel touches have been made over the year such as rosses etched on the door windows. I have a large family now and i just faced the fact that this bus is not for us anymore and will just keep going to waist sitting. This bus will need to be trailered and in no way drivable! I will assist in helping load it but its the buyers responsibility to come and get it! this is a paypal only auction! sold as is where is! It is my opinion that this is a pc of west coast american history! if your the wining bidder i hope that you will have as much fun as we have!
