Up for auction is my 1996 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. This is a no reserve auction! This car has 71, 799 original miles. I am the 2nd owner of the vehicle and purchased it when it had 23,000 miles about 7 years ago. It was my daily driver for about 5 years and ran like a champ. And then I screwed everything up. So I'm now selling this awesome car AS-IS. Actually, I'm being overdramatic. I decided about 2 years ago, when I bought another vehicle, that the Caddy was going to be my Sunday driver. So I started buying everything I'd need to make this the sweetest Caddy ever. I bought a touchscreen lcd DVD player, amplified subwoofers, new floor mats and some other stuff. I decided to start with the installation of the head unit, speakers and subwoofers. Everything went smashingly, or so I thought. And this is where it went downhill: Everything is hooked up properly, but for some reason I created a short somewhere in the electrical system when I installed everything. So now, the battery gets drained pretty quickly, and has a hard time being jumpstarted (partly because it has a remote start that keeps trying to start it the moment it gets an ounce of juice). I've looked, and I can't find a thing. I'm also an idiot, and probably stripped a wire and didn't realize it. So it has a short, somewhere. That's why it's being sold AS-IS. Regardless, the car is awesome, and has everything included to make it the sweetest Caddy in the neighborhood, but I don't have the time or know how to figure this one out. So, with that said, you're bidding on a car being sold AS-IS. We recently had a baby (and a month later I subsequently lost my job), so my dreams of actually having this sweet Caddy as a 2nd car, have gone away. Right now, I'm busy playing Mr. Mom and tending to bottles and dirty diapers. So, the car has been sitting in our driveway for over a year now. I'm sad to see it go, but I would rather someone else enjoy it, rather than let it sit around and collect dust. One of my neighbors with a battery charger, helped jumpstart it about 8 months ago (difficultly, we had to remove all leads from the battery to avoid having the remote start try to start it), and I drove it around the block (wearily; the tires are half-flat), and it still drove fine. The tires on there have plenty of tread left, but will need to be replaced. I'm fairly certain the belts in the tires will eventually break, from sitting immobile for so long. So, here's the details: 1996 Sedan DeVille Tan leather interior in near perfect shape (1 small tear in the back seat, that's about it) 71k original miles Northstar 32V 4.6L V8 (surprisingly, I would get about 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway) Eonon 6.5" LCD AM/FM, CD, DVD Player (comes with 2 bezels for the dash that need to be slightly modified to fit snugly - I bought a spare one in case I screwed up the original one) Tan/Gold paint (original) with one black and one red pinstripe (again, original). The paint has some scuff marks that would come out with some wax/rubbing compound Python remote start Dub dual 8" amplified subwoofer tube 17" chrome wheels (stock) OEM Embroidered matching floor mats - front/rear (new) Leather/woodgrain steering wheel cover (new) Rain-X Weatherbeater wipers (new) Universal rubber antenna (the existing motorized antenna is stuck in the up position, I bought a new "euro-style" rubber antenna to replace it with 15% tint on all windows AAA battery, size 78 (Part No. 78-C); CCA - 770 (approx 3 years old) (2) radio bezels & 1 trim ring (which needs to be cut to size to fit around the DVD player. I never got around to it) There is no rust on the car that I can see. The bezels around the tail lights show pitting (see photos), but they're not too bad. There are some stains on the carpet from some soda I spilled. I'm pretty sure the carpet could use a good steam cleaning anyhow, but overall it's in good shape. Also, the only other thing wrong with it is one of the rubber channels for the rear window has slid off. I think just removing it and putting it back on properly will fix it. You won't be disappointed with this car, once you figure out where the short is. I've been told that the wiring for these Cadillacs wasn't made for aftermarket head units, and I was also told that all I'd need is an adapter. Not sure what the problem might be, but I'm pretty sure even taking it to a local car audio shop might resolve it. The car is in Morrisville, PA (just north of Philadelphia). And again, the car has been sitting for a while, and the belts in the tires are probably broken, so this car will more than likely NEED TO BE TOWED. There are automobile transporting services all over; you can google: automobile transport and get a fairly accurate quote from any number of folks. Just to reiterate, the buyer should arrange to have it towed, as I don't think (at least with the tires on there) it is road ready.
