Vehicle Detail
(I am re-listing this vehicle / ebay winner did not follow through with payment.) I inherited this car from my dad, who bought this from an owner in southernCalifornia in 2007 for $10,900. The car was in fair shape at that time with alittle over 142,000 miles on it, and dad (and I) spent about $14,000 restoringthe car. Rare, and perhaps unique, the previous owner installed a powersteering pump (from a Volvo of the same vintage), which makes the carsteer like a dream. Anyone who has driven a P1800 knows the difficulty withsteering, but this car has that problem licked. The car runs great, is fun to drive, and looks fantastic. Whenever I stop at alight I get admiring stares and compliments. The A/C is cold. The body is in great shape, except for a small ding near the driver’s sidetail light (see picture) and several small bumps and bruises. The leatherupholstery was refurbished and looks great. New carpets were installed andthere are a set of new carpet mats. There is a spare tire. These are the things that I know need attention or have been altered in a waythat is not original:1. There is a very slow transmission oil leak. My Volvo mechanic had the carfor a week and could not see any appreciable leakage and recommended notreplacing the gasket.2. A horn button was installed on the dash (replacing the horn in the steeringwheel).3. The clock doesn’t work.4. The oil temperature gauge doesn’t work.5. The vent windows don’t seal as well as they could.6. The driver’s vent cable is sticky. This is a 38 year old car, so it will need some maintenance from time to time. But it seems like all the major work to the car has been done to keep it in goodoperating condition for the foreseeable future. The car is being sold as is withno warranties. We will help to arrange shipping. Contact me with any questions.
