Vehicle Detail
This is it fellers, the best, and most highly sought after bike BMW has ever made - the 2004 BMW R 1150 GS Adventure! For those of you that have watched the documentary “Long Way Round” you will recognize that this is the exact year, model, and colors of the bikes used by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman to ride 19,000 miles from London to New York. As I’m sure you already know, this particular bike is rather hard to find, they don’t come up for sale very often - especially one with as low miles at this, just 28,500! Don’t miss this opportunity to own one of the most legendary and capable motorcycles in the world. I have owned this bike for 3 years. I am the second owner. I purchased it from Scottsdale BMW where it had been meticulously maintained. I continued that tradition. This bike has been a blast, I have ridden cross country on it, through inclement weather, down snowy roads, across the open plains - pretty much any and all conditions, and it has always been steady as a rock. Heated handgrips and ABS have always made this bike a pleasure to ride not matter what. Over the past 2 years I have used Motoghost for all maintenance. They can verify that this bike is in great mechanical condition. The tires are nearly new, the battery was just replaced, the bike has been gone through numerous times, fluids changed, etc., and it always has had a great bill of health. The elbows on the fuel lines were changed out from the plastic versions to the metal ones, which was done after one of them leaked fuel while the bike was parked. This left a fuel stain which I photographed. It is purely cosmetic and is common on these bikes. As I stated above, this motorcycle is in great mechanical condition. Cosmetically, there are scratches, dings, dents, and whatnot as all GS Adventures should! I have endeavored to photograph any cosmetic imperfections. There is a small cut in the seat, which is an aftermarket seat that is 1” lower than the original. I still have the original and from memory it has no damage at all. This bike comes with all three of the original BMW factory panniers! In addition there are all types of little aftermarket goodies included (see photos), including Z Technik Titanium exhaust. I have the title in hand. The motorcycle passed emissions. The tags are expired but that shouldn’t take much to get renewed. The motorcycle is located in Phoenix, AZ.
