Motorbahn is offering this 1975 Porsche 911 that has been converted from a Targa into a Convertible. This process is fairly common on these older 911s. This car was bought with the intention of never being available for sale. This 911 was to be part of our personal collection. We bought the car on the East Coast and the gentleman who owned it before us had the 993 Turbo wide-body installed on the car for $12,000.00. We bought the Porsche and then purchased a 1986 3.2 liter engine and transmission installed by Jon Rhodes, formally with Reid Vann, now owner of ET Tuning. We bought the engine and transmission from Parts Heaven and it had 67,xxx miles on it. We paid $8,500.00 for the engine and transmission and then paid Jon $2,659.00 to install it which, since his comapny is one of our most frequently used vendors, it was installed close to his cost. We then bought the Fabspeed exhaust with cat. bypass for $1,363.00. The exhaust is all stainless and under warranty. The car runs very strong and tight. We pulled all the carpet out and ordered new from ebay for $300.00. We put “hush-matt” down ($200.00) then added the new carpet. The seats were re-upholstered prior to us owning the car. There is a small 2” tear in the top that has been stitched. The top is mechanically inop. It needs the new brain which is $295.00 from Parts Heaven. When we put the new dual exhaust on the car, the spot for factory exhaust needs to be fiberglassed. We did recover the door panels but did not reinstall them fully because we wanted to rewire the new speakers. It has a new stereo and speakers that we have not even turned on yet. The interior is virtually all new and looks great. The exterior is clean but in order to look better, it would need to be wet-sanded and buffed or one could opt to have it repainted. The left front wheel does have some road-rash but does not prohibit smooth driving. We have well over $20,000.00 in this 911 the way it sits and many many hours of hard work. We have run out of time and energy to finish this car. Our loss is your gain!
As a serious buyer can see, no expense was spared and the Porsche was to be my personal toy, but I just do not have the time to finish. My best estimate to finish this car would be about $1,000.00 and some hard work. If this car was finished, it would sell for around $25,000.00.
