Vehicle Detail

Triumph T120TT (TT Special). The history of this motorcycle is as follows: My friend purchased it in 1969. It was rarely ridden between 1969 and 1990, at which time my friend took it to Jack Hateley in Burbank, CA. (Google him) to be restored. Jack owned and operated Triumph of Burbank and was a noted Triumph tuner. The bike was rebuilt in what appears to have been a total restoration. A sticker from Jack Hateley Enterprises was placed on the underside of the seat. This is where the picture becomes a bit fuzzy because my friend died unexpectedly in 2004. I acquired the bike in 2005 from his family. I was provided with the bike, a large box of used motorcycle parts (cables, clutch plates, pistons, valves, guide rods, carburetors, foot pegs, kick starter, wiring harness, chains, etc.) marked with the name Jack Hateley Enterprises, Burbank, CA. After the restoration in 1990, my friend turned the engine over and ran it periodically but essentially kept it stored in his garage in CA., as he was physically unable to ride it. I never saw him ride it and when I got it, the Dunlop tires still had the whiskers on them, as I believe they still are today. Since owning it, I have run the engine periodically and have changed the fluids but have not ridden it more than 10 miles. It has never been titled or registered as far as can be determined (a search of California records was conducted, the State where the motorcycle was kept for over forty years). I am currently in the process of obtaining an Oregon title (it is expected within two weeks). The buyer will either be provided with the Oregon title or seller will make arrangements with a title service company to obtain one. The frame and the engine numbers match and the records indicate the bike was manufactured in the Meridian, England Triumph facility in 1966. This is what I can say about the bike: It is absolutely beautiful but the fact remains that restoration took place over twenty years ago. The left hand grip rubber was chewed on by a mouse (classy mouse) in my basement and the brand new (from 1990) fork boots have some cracks in them from the bike being at my ranch in the desert. Although it was stored inside, the dry, desert air took its toll on the boots. They still visually appear newish, aside from the horizontal split I have noted. I cannot see a drop of oil leaking anywhere and one can plainly see that new seals were installed at the time of restoration. It runs off of a ET ignition, I believe, as there is no battery. I am told that the custom oil tank installed is a desired modification, although not stock. The handle bars are Flanders, hence, not stock. NO, the bike is not 100% stock for those purists out there desiring to point that out with nearly biblical prowess. However, if it was good enough for Jack Hateley, that's good enough for me (Amen) and any non-stock features can be "corrected" if one desires. If you have any questions, ask before bidding. I am happy to take more pictures and answer any questions to the best of my ability. I will assist with coordinating with a shipper but the responsibility for crating and shipping rests with buyer, as does the cost of shipping and any desired insurance. Bike is sold "as is where is" no warranties express or implied, except that it will cause panties to drop spontaneously (lighten up folks, it's a depression we're in and we all need to laugh). Mileage is listed as 10,000 because mileage is unknown. If someone wants me to made a wild-ass guess, I will do so for no extra charge. Thanks for looking.
