1987 Toyota Xcab SR5 Turbo 5spd I have to sell my beloved truck to make room in my garage. I looked for YEARS to find this truck and it kills me to sell it. It is a rare version with a turbo charged 2.4 liter. It gives you comparable power to a 6 cylinder but has the reliability of the 22R. I will give you an accurate description so when if you bid you can rest assured you will get what you expect. I bought the truck a few years ago and being a Toyota fanatic I immediatly went to work making it right. I spend a lot of money having the body done, painted, and then made it mechanically very reliable. I get compliments all the time and have people walk up all the time to look at it. Here are the details. Mechanical- Very reliable mechanically. I have a new Accord but I drive my truck to work at least twice a week. When I got it I drained all the fluids from differentials, transfer case, transmission, engine, and cooling system. I have recently had it all tuned up including valve adjustment. Many seals were replaced on the front of the motor and while we were doing that we check the timing chain which is good. The clutch is good and the transmission shifts as it should. The 4wd system works flawlessly. The battery is new and a side note I had the valve cover and air pipe powder coated red to sharped up the engine compartment. New shocks as well. There is an oil leak which a mechanic told is coming from the turbo oil line. It had two others which I fixed but haven't had time to get this one. It might need the ujoints replaced. I feel a tiny bid of play. Let me reiterate, its is very reliable. You can drive it anywhere! Interior- This is one of the reasons I bought this truck. It has very comfortable factory sport seats with lumbar and side bolster adjustments on the driver seat. The dash has a crack so I bought a dash cover. Carpet is good and the interior pieces as a whole are good. Drivers door has some cracking on the switch panel and I tried to recover the armrest. Not a great job. It has a factory shelf in the back with cargo nets and sunroof with a sun shade. Overall the interior is surprisingly very nice. The a/c works well and will keep you cool! Electronics- This SR5 model has a TON of options. Cruise control, power windows, tilt, full guage package, power locks, and more. Most old Yotas dont have these. The power mirrors were replaced with manual mirrors and I put in a cd player with USB jack and aux input. Body-I had tons on rust cut out new sheet metal welded in. That being said rust never completely goes away. Along some of the seams on the bed rust bubbles are slowly showing their ugly faces. I took pictures for you to see. The bed also has fiberglass and bondo. Looks good from 20 feet but is by no means perfect. I have a bed liner if you would want it. The truck has been garaged and the paint is glossy and looks nice, not a perfect paint job but turns heads. It drives GREAT in the snow and whenever I took it out I washed the undercarriage. Tires are BFGs with years of life left. The rims show a lot of wear but I see them cheap on eBay all the time. I think that is all. Please review the photos and email me with any questions.
