Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most traditional dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before I list a vehicle on eBay, it is personally road tested by me so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. Then I write a description so it feels as it you've driven in yourself. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechainc. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment at my York, PA storage facility. Any serious buyer is encouraged to request a private showing. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is". Most vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and have hot been serviced or reconditioned prior to sale. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before placing a bid or asking a question. Everything I know about this vehicle is disclosed in the following paragraphs... It is my pleasure to offer this super rare 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee TSi for a NO RESERVE auction. I searched and searched online for exact production numbers for the TSi model but I couldn't find any. The Grand Cherokee TSi was only produced for one year and was sold as 97 (sold in late 97 as a 97.5) and in 1998. The TSi was only available in three colors and was separated from other models on the outside by a painted grill, special 16" alloy wheels and a funny purple stripe (which most people removed). On the inside, a TSi is pretty much a Laredo in trim but with special leather sport seats and steering wheel audio controls. The TSi also came with sport suspension and steering. This is probably the rarest Jeep produced...ever. This model was not a popular seller and was dropped almost immediately. These almost never come available but I managed to get my hands on one. I would rate the exterior of this Jeep Grand Cherokee TSi as ABOVE AVERAGE. As you can see in the photos, this TSi is absolutely gorgeous. The black paint has a mile deep shine from any angle. There are no dings, dents or scratches worth mentioning. There is some thinning of the plastic trim which is normal and not really a big deal...or anything you can really help/prevent. I could find NO RUST on the body of this Jeep. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. There is a trailer hitch for towing. The special 16" sport wheels are in excellent condition and are wrapped in great rubber. Overall, this is a great looking Jeep that would look good in anyones driveway. I would also rate the interior of this Jeep as ABOVE AVERAGE. All of the door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The seats are showing some wear (and a patch on the drivers seat cushion) but are in decent shape overall and still comfortable. The headliner is beginning to sag in two spots which is also common for Jeeps. The TSi model was trimmed between the Laredo and Limited models, so this Jeep is very well optioned. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work as they should. Both front seats are power operated and heated. There is a full overhead console. This Jeep has the Infinity Gold sound system which sounds good. The climate control system is working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. There are steering wheel mounted audio controls which were not offered in the Laredo trim. The cargo area is clean, spacious and comes with the original retracting cargo cover. This Jeep is also equipped with factory remote entry which is still in good working order. Mechanically, this Jeep seems okay. The famous 4.0L strait six starts right up and runs smoothly. I could see no leaks or smoke coming from this Jeep. During my road test, this Jeep displayed good road manners. The engine kept a cool temperature and perfect oil pressure. The steering feels tight and responsive as it should. The front ball joints feel a little thin. It drives great down the highway well but you can feel it shift around a little over harsh bumps. There are a few other things this Jeep may need. There is a small exhaust leak, I think the rear shocks may need replaced and you may need an oxygen sensor. There is a small amount of gear whine which is also common as Jeeps age. The drive trains in these trucks are notoriously tough. If I were to guess, I'd say roughly $500 would take care of the ball joints, shocks and the exhaust leak. This is a rare Jeep that you're not likely to pass another like it on the way to Home Depot. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
