Vehicle Detail

"SOUTHERN SURVIVOR" Let me start by saying this is the most original 442 I pesonally have ever seen. It is the little old man car you hear about.Unique / Rare 442 Post, bench seat, column shift car. This car is a real nice weekend cruise night car.I have a clear Georgia title on this car. (that is very rare in Georgia for a car this old) It has been in the Atlanta Georgia area all it's life. A true southern gem!! I first heard about this car in '95 from my old boss. He said his Dad had put it in storage and forgot about it. Around '98 I went to help my boss pull this thing out of a time machine in Atlanta. I was astounded at how original this car was. It was parked sometime in '82, my boss got it from his Dad in '98. His Dad bought it in '68 from the original owner. I have the original bill of sale from the Old's dealer in Atlanta from 1967. I have not detailed the car cause I don't wanna take anything away from the Patina of this car! I will descibe as best I can if you have questions feel free to ask. "PAINT" is original. It will need a paint job as this car is 40+ years old to be a show stopper. There is a couple of small spots of rust on the car, it's in the lower front fenders, hood around the front edge. As for the rest the door jams, trunk, core support, rear quarters, floor pans, roof under vinyl top are as solid as the day it was built. "TOP" is as good as they come no cracking or tears. "TRUNK" has the original mat, spare, jack, and cover for spare. His Dad told me the spare had never been out of the car. "ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN" 400/ 400 auto turbo tranny, factory numbers matching car, the only thing not original is the hoses, belts, a/c compressor it was replaced a couple months ago. A/C blows cold even on these 100 degree Georgia days. I tried to get the old a/c compressor core back but it was gone. Carb was rebuilt after it was pulled out of storage as was the hoses and belts replaced. It does have a new gas tank as the other was so rusty from setting. My old boss drove this car for a few years and then parked it for a few years. I have drove it about 300 miles since I've had it. I'm going to drop it off at my buds shop and have it fine tuned. It does run like a sewing machine. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across the country. (REALLY!!) I did the brakes (drum) a few years back on this car and replaced the front wheel bearings as well. The Tranny was serviced and will bark the tires shifting into 2nd if you get on it. The engine oil is a as clean as any new car today. His Dad was anal about this car. "EXHAUST" all original 442 exhaust, it even has the original 442 exhaust tips still on it from '67. "INTERIOR" I have a brand new in the box am/fm cassette radio thats never been installed that came from Year One. The dash has no cracks like brand new, the dash gauges show aging as any car this age would but nothing that a little TLC couldn't fix. Carpet is the original loop pile that came factory, it does have a couple of thin spots on the edge where you step in. Headliner is like brand new. This car has the rare vacuum trunk release that still works. "GLASS" is all good no clouding or cracks. "CHROME TRIM" needs polishing all but a couple of pieces have a small dent. They look real nice not new but nice. "DETAILS" I will expect a $1,000.00 deposit within 24 hours of the sell of this car. I expect full payment & be picked up within 10 business days of the sell of this car. I except cash, or certified check. If you are out the country contact me before you bid. This is a great piece of history!! Again if you have any questions feel free to ask. If you are local or not you are more than welcome to come over and check it out. I have additional pictures upon request. Thanks, Bill!!On Aug-21-11 at 15:53:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Just had a gentleman come look at the car. He said it was represented well. Though we did realize the car has been repainted from a what looks like a minor collision that happened back in '69. I have had 2 peolple come by a say the car is represented well and looks like they expected.
