First year Goldwing. GL-1000 series the best as well as the most collectable. I purchased this from a retired Air force officer a few years ago in running condition. Since then the bike has been completely gone through and is part of my small collection. A few of the items replaced or rebuilt/renued are: Timing belts, waterpump, brake callipers, brake master cylinders- front & rear, brake lines, clutch and throttle cables, wheel bearings, tires, battery, starter solenoid, etc. The fuel system was completely refreshed with all four carburetors cleaned and rebuilt with Randakk kits. The fuel tank was cleaned and lined with PUR 81 epoxy coating and the lines were replaced. A major tune up with plugs, points, timing and carburetor sync. was just recently performed. The front forks have new seals and the steering head bearings have been upgraded to tapered roller bearings. The plug wires and coils have been replaced with original Honda GL-1000 parts If you want a Series I Goldwing ready to ride anywhere this is a candidate. I have put 2,000 miles on this bike since the above work was finished without a single problem. All switches,lights, fuses and connections were cleaned and/or replaced and function as intended. The motorcycle starts, runs, idles as intended and the handling/braking is like new. The detractions from being a show bike are: Paint-- it has some fading and some touch-up spots as shown in the pics. rear wheel spokes have some surface rust on them the chrome is in very good shape for its age but there are a few grainy spots
