1975 Honda CB

1975 Honda CB400F Super Sport. Four cylinder, four carbs, four into one factory exhaust. This is one of the rarest vintage Honda motorcycles ever made. Made from 1975 to 1977. The 1975 model is the most desirable of the three year run. This particular bike sat inside for the last ten years partially disassembled. It was recently put back together. The bike is a great candidate for a concours restoration, or ride as is. The good about this bike: Frame was sanded and repainted. Engine starts and runs very good. Carburetors were rebuilt including new floats, needles, and jets. Chrome on the bike is very good. Gauges work, lights work, brake lights work. Left side signal light does not come on-could be a bulb or something simple. There is a new battery. The front caliper has been rebuilt. The exhaust is the OEM exhaust. The headers are in very good original condition, the muffler is original, but the baffles have either been removed or have rotten. Tires are decent, but don't match. The petcock works great, there is a new fuel line and inline filter. Inside of the tank is mint. Outside of tank is original condition with a few minor dents. Paint is pretty good. Gas cap is bright, and operates as it should. Not so good: Seat is not the original. It is mounted nicely, but it is not the OEM pan. I have the chain guard needs to be installed, which I will do prior to auction end. Two of the carbs still leak through the overflow-its either float tabs need adjustment or bowl tubes are cracked, either way easy fix. I will try to resolve before auction end. Starter solenoid does not engage all the time-so you need to press the start button a few times, or kick start when this happens. This is a solid, original running 400F that has not been destroyed or molested. Must pick up in Greenwich, CT. Delivery in Tri-State area is available, at extra cost. Sold to the highest bidder. On Aug-20-11 at 10:21:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Starter Solenoid issue has been resolved by a replacement unit. A couple people have asked if exhaust is original, particularly the muffler. The muffler says 400F, HONDA on it. The headers are for sure original OEM.
