Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell wholesale cars directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The infomation contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Vehicles are shown by appointment. All vehicles I sell are trades from local dealerships and are sold "as-is". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not serivce or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Please read the entire description and review all photos in detail before placing a bid or asking a question. Everything I know about each vehicle (both good and bad) is fully disclosed in this description. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Acura 2.5 TL. I would rate the condition of the exterior of this vehicle as AVERAGE for the age and miles. 1998 was the last year for this style of TL which makes it fairly desirable. Walking around this car, you will find a few scratches and dings like you would expect to find on an older car. Overall, this is a good looking vehicle. The paint on the rear bumper is slightly faded but it's not that noticable. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires have about 30% tread left and may need replaced in the next year or so depending on your states inspection laws. I did not see any body rust on this Acura which is uncommon as Honda products age. Again, this is a good looking car. Please review all photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Acura to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. Other than a half dollar sized hole in the front passengers seat cushoin, the interior is very nice and shows minimal wear. All of the door panels are clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The headliner is clean and in tact. The power windows, locks, mirrors, seats and sunroof all work as they should. The factory radio has been upgraded to an aftermarked CD system which sounds great. The climate control system us fully automatic and works properly. The air conditioning blows ice cold. The original owners manual is included with this TL. It is also equipped with factory remote entry. The remote will need a battery. The trunk is spacious and clean. The early TL's are great cars in my opinion and the last Acuras to offer the 5 cylinder engine which I also like. Mechanically, I would rate this Acura to be in AVERAGE condition. The 2.5L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. You will notice a small hole in the muffler as you listen to it run but it's not offensively loud. During my road test, this Acura behaved very well. The suspension and steering are nice and tight as they should be. The brakes stop this car effectively and with no pulsation or noise. The five cylinder engine is very smooth and accellerates this Acura to highway speeds effortlessly. Out on the highway, this TL gobbles up the road at 80+ mph without breaking a sweat. At speed, she drives strait as an arrow and there is no vibrations or odd noises. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts as it should. When I bought this car, it began to run irratically so I took it to my mechanic to diagnose the check engine light and get his thoughts. He said the light was for a mass air meter. I replaced the mass air and the car has run perfectly ever since. When I cleared that old code, there was also one (P0730D) for an incorrect gear ratio. I have never heard of that code before and no amount of research I did gave me any good idea what could trigger it. I have personally put about 200 miles on this TL and it doesn't do anything out of the ordinary. It hasn't come back since I cleared out the old codes. I am not aware of any present issues with the car but I also want you to be able to bid with confidence. This code may come back...although I'm not sure why. I don't hide anything about my cars. If you come to look at it and don't like how it drives, we will shake hands and part friends. I've driven the heck out of this car and it is a great driving car.
