You are bidding on a Mercedes 300TE,station wagon,rear wheel drive(not 4matic),traded on a new Mercedes. We aquired the car wholesale from the Mercedes dealer where it was traded,and drove it back 50 miles on the hwy,without a problem. I noticed that the car had a low idle and ABS light was on,so,our mechanic diagnosed a burned out OVP(overload relay) due for replacement. The good part first: car is rust free,there is no rust on or under this car,undercoating is original,one can count the bolts under the car,garaged kept,solid,original smoke silver color. Interior is a rare dark brown color,looks new,with the third seat ,spare,books,tools and first aid kit in the trunk. AC works,was retrofited years ago by Mercedes and works fine. Rear hydraulic suspension is in excellent shape,no leaks,no bounce. All electrical options work:central locks and trunk pull down,sunroof,power seats,stock radio,all 4 power windows. Suspension,steering ,brakes and tires are in good shape. Engine has a new valve cover gasket and does not leak,looks clean and sound smooth. The bad part and important to read: the burned out OVP relay was a easy fix,however,at replacement we noticed that when that relay shorted it damaged part of the wire harness attached to it,so, needs a new owner,mechanically inclined,who can spend a half day,splicing the wires and putting that harness back together,otherwise,driving the car like that,it might catch on fire,at any time.See the picture attached. There is a rear,pass side wheel bearing noise.Odometer cable got caught in something and broke,it is hanging under the car,needs replacement. Exterior,nice and shiny looking,has several dents,see pictures. NO RESERVE,if you are brave you can drive it home with the risk of catching on fire,or,you can have it shipped,it will start and run fine to put it on a trailer or transport truck,then the battery needs to be disconnected.
