Up for sale is my 2002 Volvo XC70 Cross Country. A crossover before the genre was so named, it boasts a litany of features from the practical to the luxurious, including an excellent all-weather all wheel drive system. My fiancee and I bought this car for her in 2008, at which time it had just 65K on the clock. It was a one owner vehicle -- a doctor's wife being the first, so it has been female owned all its life and has always been well maintained. To that end, it also has a spotless Carfax report. I'm not a mechanic, but I have always enjoyed cars, and this one is ready to roll. Amenities: - Premium Package (leather seats, wood inlays, full power driver/pass seats, CD player, sunroof) - Cold Weather Package (heated seats and headlight wipers) - Factory Child Booster seats in rear (factory option) - Window tint (B-pillar back) Maintenance: Note: without getting too into it I am having some difficulty obtaining my maintenance records from the prior years. This vehicle was taken for three months during our separation and in that time the majority of the records have vanished. Additionally, having lived in a number of states I can confidently say Maine is one of the most stringent states for obtaining an inspection sticker and this vehicle was granted such in May 2011 (we relocated here). When communication was still open it was reported to me that she had spent over $1,500 in maintenance to obtain said sticker. - Vehicle has (4) brand new tires - Front-end suspension work was completed (details unavailable) - Front left coil spring replaced (common failure on this model) - Oil just changed (Mobile1 Synth – I have always used MAHLE oil filters though ran out on this last change so it currently has a Prestone installed) - A/C blows ice cold Prior: - front-right wheel bearing (09/10) - Always ran with Mobile1 synthetic oil since we took ownership - Plenty of routine items, but as aforementioned I can’t get hold of the documentation. Needs: - Tailgate struts worn out (won’t stay perched on own – inexpensive repair) - In the effort of full disclosure while on a road trip the passenger side headlight ceased operating. It was determined that a critter had chewed the wiring. A new harness/headlamp/what have you was unavailable at the time/location though the gent we met was kind enough to rewire the lamp directly with an inline fuse so that we could continue on our way. It has been that way for a year now and has never caused any issue. - Vehicle uses approx. one quart of oil every 2,500-3,000 miles if memory serves me. Again, it has been out of my hands for a three-month duration and subsequently has sat in my garage.- Vehicle has a ding on front passenger door and rear quarter-panel. I dropped it off at a local dealer for DentWizard to fix prior to this listing. Unfortunately, I was in a business meeting when he called for approval to repair said blemishes. I could not orchestrate another drop off, but was quoted $140.00 for the repair. Final Seller’s Note: I recently opted to take this vehicle on a 400 mile round-trip business excursion down to the Boston area in order to assess its current shape/condition/needs. It performed flawlessly without a creak, bang, bump or rattle and achieved 24mpg. In my layman opinion it is in exceptional shape given its mileage and the photos below reflect its condition.
