For sale is a black on black 1965 Chevelle SS 327 with the original matching number L79 327/350hp engine block. It is a trim code designated "2L" factory 4 speed, original 12 - bolt posi rear with 4:11 gears, orginal am/fm radio and center console. The build code is 07C. This SS has all original body panels, trunk and floors, it is a solid, rust free car that was brought up here from the south over twenty years ago. Vin # 13837 =V8 SS, factory 4-speed. The engine block, is suffix coded “EC” which represents the L79 327/350 hp option, the partial VIN number also matches that of the car itself, as well as the assembly date stamped on the pad as well. The casting numbers on the block are indicative as well, 3782870. The casting date is G85. Block stamp F07IOEC, partial VIN matches vin of vehicle, casting number Heads 3927186 The engine has been rebuilt using non-factory intake, ignition and exhaust items, the alternator has been relocated on the passenger side, the heads numbers are later model 2.02’s, some of the parts and numbers are noted below as well. The original parts were not of value and concern as to the previous owner, and sold them to buy the parts on it now and to rebuild. I do have a photos showing the original engine prior with the distinct L79 air cleaner, intake and other specifics. The engine runs fantastic, 50 lbs. of oil pressure at 3k rpm cruising, excellent oil pressure consistently throughout the rpm range. It is very strong, has a nice lumpy rumble to it at idle, pulls hard up to 6k rpm and runs consistently between 180-200 degrees. Everything electrically works as it should, even the glove box light and reverse lights! The following items are new: tinted/shaded windshield door, hood, and trunk weatherstripping heater core heater hoses battery battery tray battery hold downs spring-ring battery cables fuel tank straps and hardware fuel tank insulators rear divider board package tray all 4 wheels cylinders front brake shoes parking brake cable - FRONT park brake cable hangers park brake cable connectors door handles side view mirror antenna front hood molding hood insulation rear "C" moldings reverse light assemblies dash bezel glove box trim glove box lining The Gauge cluster was disassembled inspected and polished prior to reassembly, including the gauge bezel, the clock is restored. I rely on the sport comp gauges for accuracy of oil pressure and temperature, I omitted the factory amp gauge function for safety reasons. The 14 X 6 rally wheels were media blasted, sealed, primed and painted the correct rally argent silver, mounted on correct red-line tires. The car was painted using DuPont Chroma base #99K black, two stage basecoat/clearcoat, it was then wet sanded using 1500 up to 2000 sandpaper then compounded twice, machine glazed twice, and hand waxed thereafter. The bumpers are original and they are in great shape for being original, the original am/fm radio does light up and does emit sound, but not the greatest.
