1968 Ford Mustang, 2 Family Owned, Nicely Equipped - 1 of 205 with this paint and trim codes per the Marti Report which will be included. The Story: This nicely equipped 1968 Ford Mustang was built in San Jose, CA. The original owner purchased it new on March 3, 1968 from Midway Ford Sales in Los Angeles, CA. The ’68 remained in Beverly Hills, CA until the original owners passing in 2003. His siblings who lived in Missouri went to California to assist with his estate. Because of the distance they had not remained close so they were surprised to learn of his 1968 Mustang that he stored in the basement garage of his condominium. Their nephew was even more surprised when he found out his uncle that he had never met left the Mustang to him. In the fall of 2003 he had it transported back to Missouri. Other than general maintenance and installing an aftermarket Mustang designed FM cassette radio it remained in the condition that it was before it left California. After years of enjoyment he decided to sell the car. I learned about the Mustang from an older gentleman that owned a repair shop and for years had serviced the cars for the owners family but never knew they owned a classic Mustang until they brought in for a tune up since they were considering selling it. After months of consideration they decided to sell the Mustang and I was fortunate enough to purchase it. Condition: Two family owned, 89,830 original miles, original condition, repaint is presentable but is probably over 10 years old, has some nicks and scratches, see picture(s) for chip by drivers side mirror and scratch on driver quarter panel at the quarter extension, lower portion of the drivers door may have been damaged but is not showing any damage now, see picture of small blemish in the lower passenger door - I do not believe it’s rust, see picture of engine bay apron by hood hinge - same spot both sides, well optioned, everything works except the a/c and clock, runs excellent, starts right up, very dependable, enjoyable to drive, nice running temperature, panel fit is good, the underside is very solid with no repairs made or needed, always garaged, everything is in good condition, the doors shut nicely, it starts right up, passed 2010 state inspection, recent tune up, brake booster and carburetor rebuilt September 2010.
