Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I offer wholesale dealer trades directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findinds of my road test. The information contained in this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are welcomed and encouraged whenever possible. Just shoot me an email to arrange a time to meet at my storage facility. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and are not serviced or reconditioned in any way prior to sale unless specifically stated otherwise. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before bidding or asking questions. Everything I know about each vehicle (both good and bad) is fully disclosed in this description. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1993 Honda Civic EX. In spite of being in primer for the most part, this is actually a pretty good looking car. It's obvious that someone put a lot of time into the way this car looks. This car was originally teal in color as you can see from the engine photos but the previous owner did an excellent job. The only teal you can see is in the engine bay and in the sunroof hole. The door jams and trunk have all been made to match the black of the outside and make a pretty good starting point for your own ideas. There is a tiny hint of rust under the paint of the drivers rear fender but it is very small which makes this Civic in far better condition than most others. In addition to the custom "paint", this Civic features an aftermarket rear wing and chrome wheels. The tires look to have decent tread. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. Overall, this is a sharp looking car. Strait older EX's are hard to find and are very desirable because they are the only Civic coupes to come with a sunroof/power windows and they are easier to do a B-series engine swap than a non-Vtec car. I would rate the interior of this Civic as AVERAGE. The drivers seat looks like someone took a bite out of it which is common. The other seats are in good condition. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The door panels are decent looking and tight. This Civic EX is equipped with power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof. I noticed that sometimes you have to play with the window switches to make the windows go up but they do work. The power locks, mirrors and sunroof all work as they should. There is no radio, but the harness is still there and looks good. The climate control works as it should and the air conditioner blows ice cold air still. The trunk is clean and spacious. The original owners manual is included with the car. This car also comes with an aftermarket alarm system which is working properly and features remote entry that is wired into the factory power locks. Mechanically, this Civic seems to be in decent shape for almost 200k miles. The D16 engine starts up easily and runs smoothly. During my road test, this Honda had no warning lights on and kept perfect operating temperature. It's been over a decade since I've driven one of these cars but the engine seems a little sluggish at lower rpm than I recall. These are pretty tough engines so I don't suspect a major issue. Given the miles, I would figure on doing plugs, wires, cap/rotor and an air filter. The last one of these I owned was a 93 SI with well over 200k. It ran like a raped ape and ate oil at an incredible rate, but man did it run! The suspension and steering feel tight and responsive. At higher speeds, there is a slight vibration in the steering and brakes. The clutch feels great and gear changes are super smooth. During my road test, I didn't run it super hard but I did shift it through redline through third gear and there were no grinds. There is a little tail pipe smoke at high rpm but it is minimal for this engine considering the miles. I think there is a small leak in the exhaust. It looks stock but sounds a little louder than it should. This car is PA inspected through March of 2012. Please let me know if you have any questions. This would make an excellent foundation for a swap car because it is already Vtec which makes the wiring conversion slightly simpler. The EX model is also attractive because they are the only coupe to come with general creature comforts such as power options, sunroof and air. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
